Hundreds of years ago, a cataclysm that shook the foundations of the world, the 'Great Collapse,' swept over the continent of Ashenlands. Powerful magical contracts were broken in a chain reaction, civilization crumbled in an instant, and the boundaries of reality were torn apart. Through the gaps, all sorts of mysterious and bizarre beings came and went, and Ashenlands became a land of chaos and danger.

In this unstable world, 'contracts' are the most powerful yet most dangerous magic. Humans can make contracts with demons, ancient spirits, nameless gods, and even abstract concepts like 'revenge' or 'oblivion' to fulfill seemingly impossible wishes.

But every contract must be accompanied by a corresponding, or even greater, 'price.' This price is like mortgaging a part of your soul, and no one can escape the debt. The price will tighten its grip on your life in unimaginable ways, depending on the size and content of the contract.
