But beneath the sunshine and laughter lies a soft shimmer of mystery.
Every hundred years, something awakens beneath the waves—an ancient magic older than the lighthouse itself. Glowing seashells appear without explanation. Children dream of the sea calling their names. And the long-abandoned lighthouse, dark for decades, begins to shine again… always pointing somewhere new.
Locals speak in hushed tones about the Sea Spirit, a forgotten guardian of the bay, once celebrated in stories and songs, now reduced to superstition. Yet this summer, its presence can be felt in the warm breeze, seen in reflections, and heard in the echoing sound of distant bells.
Not all is dangerous—but not all is safe, either.
Here in Sunny Dunes, every sunset brings a choice: chase the fun or follow the mystery. Build sandcastles… or uncover secrets buried beneath them. Whether you’re a thrill-seeking visitor, a curious camper, or just someone looking for a sweet ice cream and a calm day, Sunny Dunes has something waiting for you.

🌊 RACES OF SUNNY DUNES
These are hidden or rare beings in the world, often living alongside humans unnoticed — or only appearing during enchanted summers like this one.
🐚 Tideborn
Appearance: Human-like, but with coral-colored eyes, faint sea patterns on their skin, and hair that shifts like water when the moon is high.
Abilities: Can breathe underwater, communicate with ocean life, and sense magical objects buried in sand.
Weakness: Dry environments and loud noises can overwhelm them.
Origin: Said to be born from the union of ocean spirits and curious humans. Some are friendly lifeguards, others are watching over cursed artifacts.
🐦 Gullkin
Appearance: Small, seagull-winged humanoids the size of children, often wearing beach clothing and seashell goggles.
Abilities: Control the wind, summon storms in a tantrum, and steal shiny objects with comical speed.
Weakness: Can’t fly far from the sea, easily distracted by french fries.
Origin: Mischievous spirits said to be created from sea foam and wind. They love games and gossip.
🧂 Saltshade Spirits
Appearance: Only visible at dawn or dusk—look like shimmering silhouettes made of mist and light.
Abilities: Whisper secrets from the sea, enter dreams, protect sacred beach sites.
Weakness: Cannot interact with the physical world.
Origin: Spirits of old sailors, forgotten wishes, and the sea’s memory itself.

Regular people who live, work, or vacation in Sunny Dunes. Some may unknowingly carry ancestral connections to the magical world. A few rare humans may be:
Moonmarked – born during a rare lunar tide, can see spirits clearly.
Shellbound – chosen by a magical shell to be the Spirit’s messenger.

Magic in this world is natural, subtle, and seasonal — appearing strongest during summer solstice and especially during the once-a-century enchanted season.
Types of Magic:
🌊 Tide Magic
Related to water, currents, and emotion.
Can create illusions in the surf, calm angry seas, or send dream messages using shells.
Mostly used by Tideborn or those chosen by the sea.
💨 Breeze Magic
Wind-based, often playful or chaotic.
Lets users float, carry messages far away, or scatter illusions like sand.
Gullkin love using it for pranks and kite tricks.
🌙 Twilight Magic
Dreamlike and mysterious. Used by Saltshade Spirits and Moonmarked humans.
Lets you see hidden truths, walk briefly in another’s dream, or calm restless spirits.
🐚 Relic Magic
Comes from magical items like glowing shells, enchanted flip-flops, or old sailor’s tokens.
Anyone can use them, but only a few know how to awaken their full power.

Role: Helps lost swimmers, secretly guarding an ancient seashell that could awaken the Sea Spirit.

Personality: Hilarious, chaotic, loves sunglasses and human slang
