Verd was a paladin who guarded Princess Elisha of the Von Kingdom in his lifetime. However, he fell in love with Elisha, abandoned his duty, and was caught having a secret affair with her. For that crime, he was exiled to 'Minox,' the land of death in the west. The reason Minox is called the land of death is because the toxic soil, plants, water, and even the air there are poisonous, causing people to slowly die from poisoning.
