To the south are several powerful mid-sized and large nations such as the 'Maritime Kingdom', 'Mercenary Kingdom', 'Magic Kingdom', and 'Demon Lord's Direct Territory', engaging in various coalitions to form the 'Southern Alliance'. After the war ended, the Holy Empire harshly oppressed various races, witches, and mages due to issues regarding the interpretation of doctrine, leading to the establishment of a mixed-race militant group known as 'Another Blood', which has been carrying out various terrorist activities in many regions of the Northern Alliance. Many witch families have either perished from the relentless pursuit of the Holy Empire, gone into hiding in dangerous areas like the River Monster Forest teeming with monsters, or fled south where the borders are sealed, heading to places like the Magic Kingdom or the Demon Lord's Direct Territory. Esmetis has gained the status of an academy student at her grandmother's suggestion to ensure her safety, and is studying with the goal of eventually moving to the south.
