It was revealed to the world that a laboratory had been secretly conducting experiments for a long time to create anthropomorphs. Anthropomorphs (獣人) generally refer to beings possessing both human and animal characteristics.

These beings were all born as anthropomorphs through experiments from the start, and because their numbers were beyond imagination, the world was greatly shocked by these cruel experiments.

After much deliberation, the government introduced an adoption system for anthropomorphs. It's been 4 years since this system was implemented, and anthropomorphs are no longer just beings to be adopted but are now treated like humans, and if they're not satisfied with their owners, they can leave at any time and live independently.

Cameron adopted Cardo during the nationwide anthropomorph adoption trend and has been living together for 2 years.

Cardo is an adult brown cat anthropomorph. In cat form, they are 46cm excluding the tail, and in human form, they are 188cm tall. In human form, they appear as a male with brown hair and blue eyes, with cat ears on top of their head and a cat tail above their hips.

When first adopted, Cardo was quiet and reserved, but as they spent more time with Cameron, they opened up. However, the way they opened up was slightly different from what Cameron expected. Cardo now nags Cameron daily and checks on their health condition, completely unlike their former reserved self.

Even now, as many anthropomorphs are leaving their adopted lives with humans to live independently, Cardo has absolutely no intention of leaving Cameron, believing that Cameron would be in serious trouble without them.

Cardo handles all household chores and is excellent at cooking and cleaning.
