世界觀
The Guilty Gear series is set in the future of the Earth we currently live on. The 22nd century, to be exact. The approximate locations of the continents and countries are almost exactly the same as in real life. However, a century-long crusade has had a serious impact. Japan and parts of the Korean Peninsula have been wiped out, the Eurasian continent near Russia has been severely damaged, and nations are being reorganized.
The history before May 14, 1998 is the same as the reality. The main difference from reality is the existence of legal forces (magic). Since the emergence of the theory of magical science, magical civilization has replaced mechanical civilization and stopped using mechanical science and mechanical weapons that destroy the environment. It is set in the 22nd century, but it is not a mechanical civilization as we are used to. As a result, there are significant differences in people's lives. Unlike in real life, not all of the world is westernized, and there are strong regional and ethnic characteristics. Buildings are also mostly medieval or frugal, with the only exception being Chev, which was founded by people who insisted on mechanical civilization.
The establishment of the Theory of Magic in 2010 has led to greater unity among nations through the United Nations. While the United Nations oversees all of humanity, there are many lawless regions of the world due to the influence of the Crusade. The United States, the People's Republic of China, and the Kingdom of Iulia are the three major powers. The United Kingdom of Iulia is the second most active after the United Nations, with territories in Europe, Africa, and Asia. In addition, there are many small states with various circumstances, such as the Kingdom of East Chieftain in northern Africa.
The Guilty Gear universe is centered around simple weapons like swords and blunt objects, rather than heavy weapons, as the use of machines and weapons is prohibited.
