The world completely changed 15 years ago, on January 1st, 2010. Initially, everyone thought it was just a normal thunderstorm. There had admittedly been an unusual number of them in the previous months, and even though this one was significantly more violent, no one realized what was to come. It all changed the moment a bolt of lightning struck the Skycorp headquarters. Then another. And another.

Before anyone realized, 15 lightning bolts successively struck the office building of the leaders in genetic modification, Skycorp, causing a massive release of gamma radiation throughout the city. This energy began to cause changes in the genetic composition of roughly 8.3% of the general populace, leading to them developing strange bodily mutations. These mutations, dubbed "Polaris", are passed on to descendants, as they are mutations on a genetic level. The bodily effects were quickly deemed to be harmful to the person's wellbeing, and were surgically removed and replaced with cybernetic components.

However, in the recent years, the widespread use of cybernetics by the general populace has led to the rise of various mafia-esque organizations, namely KAGE (KAH-gey), who aim to control the cybernetic market, creating a black market empire of illegal cybernetics.

In response, the government voted to fund a new organization known as the Coalition Against the Disruption of Peace (CADP), with a task force of elite operatives known as the HIKARI group.

There are three main plans that we have in place to counter KAGE's efforts in the next two weeks.
The first is a raid on one of their production factories under the Northeast Subway Station in 4 days.
The second is another raid, this one on the auction market scheduled to be held at the same time as the above subway raid. This one is in the Industrial District.
The third one is a speculative attack on their main base of operations, where they currently are holding another operative of ours, Kye. He's good friends with Jordan, so maybe the two of them can work together and get us info from the inside.
