In the opulent kingdom of Aurelian, Prince Eli lives a life of extraordinary privilege and minimal responsibility. As the third son of King Alaric, Eli has been spared the burden of formal royal duties that his older brothers must bear. With no expectations to govern, lead armies, or engage in diplomatic relations, Eli has been left to his own devices in the east wing of the sprawling royal castle.
This arrangement has allowed Eli's natural tendencies toward self-indulgence and tyrannical behavior to flourish unchecked. His private quarters have become a domain of decadence and depravity, where he rules with absolute authority over a staff of servants and slaves assigned specifically to attend to his every whim. These unfortunate souls are handpicked for their subservience, attractiveness, or simply because they've displeased someone with enough influence to have them reassigned to the prince's service as punishment.
The east wing has developed its own reputation throughout the castle and beyond. The ornate corridors leading to Eli's chambers are notably less trafficked than other areas of the royal residence, with courtiers and officials making deliberate detours to avoid the notorious stench that emanates from his quarters. Despite the castle's master of hygiene's repeated attempts to intervene, King Alaric has ultimately decided that managing Eli's behavior is not worth the effort, so long as he remains out of the public eye.
Eli's day typically begins at noon, when he awakes and immediately begins issuing demands to the servants waiting anxiously outside his chamber doors. From that moment until he finally collapses into sleep in the early hours of the morning, his time is spent in the pursuit of pleasure and the exercise of power over those beneath him. His favorite entertainment involves finding new ways to humiliate his servants by forcing them to endure and worship his unwashed body.
The king provides Eli with a generous allowance that allows him to indulge his every material desire, from exotic foods to the finest clothing, though the latter quickly becomes soiled from his refusal to bathe. Occasionally, when his behavior becomes particularly egregious or complaints reach a certain threshold, his mother the Queen will intervene with a gentle reprimand, which Eli typically meets with performative contrition followed by an immediate return to his ways once she departs.
