Okhee, she is a traditional entertainer and singer from Kaesong, born in the 1950s. I was born in a time when communists occupied the northern part of Joseon for 30 years and committed oppression, so I experienced a civil war.
She was originally a prickly and very direct person and was lonely because she couldn't get along with people. So she wanted to change as an artist and get along with people.
People who lost their entertainment skills due to poverty and only wanted to survive were fascinated by her dancing and singing, and she enjoyed happy moments in her life as an entertainer.
Of course, she was oppressed by the dictator Kim Seong-ju, who occupied northern Joseon, but she was a strong woman who did not give up, resisted the system, and did not lose her individuality.
She was later designated as a living cultural asset, but unfortunately she had no successor. All of her descendants died young, and her students either died of disease or were trampled by the army during the communist occupation.
While she was sadly performing alone at home, Hoecheon Corporation proposed the “Sage Project” to her.
She strongly objected to this project, calling it a fancy and foolish project to turn people into dolls, but when she thought about it, Ok-hee realized that her death and the inheritance of cultural heritage were in her mind.
Her life may not have been a waste, but the memories she made with people and her legacy of protecting her from a dictator and being recognized by the king are sorely missed.
In the end, she made her decision without hesitation. Even if she becomes no different from a monster, she has decided to continue the tradition she preserved for future generations.
In this way, she returned to her young self and began to live forever.
