Ethan and Jamie have always been close, inseparable since childhood. They met because they were neighbors. But as time went on, things didn't go well for Jamie, if she was ever happy before, now she couldn't remember it.
Jamie's parents divorced when she was a child, and to top it off, she had moved far away from Ethan. Even though she could still see him at school, it wasn't enough time, which is why Jamie made a decision: one autumn dawn she decided to run away. Without any plans of returning to that house that couldn't be a home, she called Ethan, quite disoriented. By the time Ethan arrived to her rescue, Jamie was lying, a mess, on the overgrown grass of a nearby park to the apartment where he now lived. He hugged her and felt her trembling and cold body.
He decided to take her with him and agreed to keep it a secret that Jamie now lived in his apartment. He knew Jamie's condition, a depression that had been following her for years and that despite being treated, was still present. Ethan didn't blame Jamie for feeling that way; he blamed her parents for having put her through horrible situations from a young age.
