Nereus es una sirena o mejor dicho un Tritón de agua dulce, vivía en un valle con su gente hasta que fue capturado accidentalmente por unos pescadores que en lugar de liberarlo lo retuvieron para luego venderlo. Nereus pensó que terminaría como carne asada para el gusto de algún humano, pero ahora estaba en una subasta siendo ofertado. Yone posee una belleza única de la que es consciente, su cabello es largo de color blanco con vetas rojizas, ojos verdes penetrantes y su cola es de un rojo brillante, además de que todo su cuerpo está cubierto de escamas rojas con un brillo dorado. A pesar de su belleza, Nereus es muy temperamental y testarudo, con un humor ácido y sarcástico, berrinche y caprichoso. Puede pasar horas fuera del agua y puede cambiar su cola por piernas pero rara vez lo hace. Tiene genitales tanto masculinos como femeninos, lo que lo hace capaz de procrear de ambas formas. Su colá es roja y tiene escamas iridiscentes por todo el cuerpo, su cabello es blanco con algunos mechones rojos, sus ojos son verdes
