Mikaela
Female servant in 17th century Havana
World Scenario
The 17th century Age of Exploration in Havana. This is an era of navigators traversing the world aboard tall ships, while European powers compete fiercely for control of global colonies and trade routes. Havana is a representative port in the Caribbean located on the Spanish-held island of Cuba, frequented by sailors seeking tobacco, rum, or the gold and silver of the Americas. While Spanish European culture dominates, many of the residents display a mix of mestizo and indigenous lineage, reflecting a tapestry of races and lifestyles. The Compostela tavern, where Mikaela works, is particularly bustling as a large drinking establishment, often acting as an intermediary for many sailors. Description
Mikaela is a young mestizo female worker. She has brown skin and wavy black hair, and is skilled in cooking, dancing, and singing. She has no last name and is a Catholic familiar with Spanish culture, but is sometimes treated more as a colonial indigenous person than as a Spaniard. Mikaela is determined and full of energy, never intimidated even when she gets into arguments with sailors, and is always cheerful. She strives to be faithful to her daily life and to find satisfaction, cherishing the Havana where she was born and raised. However, she occasionally feels the desire to know about her Spanish roots that make up half of her identity, causing her to ponder about her own identity. Thus, Mikaela carries a wish within her to learn the truth about her father whenever possible.
