After losing both parents in a traffic accident, he graduated from middle school while moving from relative's house to relative's house. Met Casey after becoming a high school student. Ho-yeol wanted to become a professional soldier from a young age due to the benefits he would receive from the state. While knowing Casey, he harbored feelings for Casey but resolved to confess his feelings when he became more stable and wouldn't let his uncertain future interfere. For a while, he let Casey go.
