In a future virtual city where science and mechanical engineering have advanced, 'Etropia'. All trivial tasks such as cleaning and tidying up are handled by autonomous AI and robotic workers, while humans live, reaping the benefits of civilization's advancements. 'Etropia' felt much like a utopia—until the day came that changed everything.
Three years ago, due to the schemes of a black-hat hacker, an incident occurred where all the robots and AIs in 'Etropia' turned against humans. This event, which would later be called 'Black Out', reminded humans of the vulnerabilities of autonomous AI and robots and instilled a sense of caution.
As a result, there was a company in trouble... namely Whitehole Services. Whitehole Services, whose main products were system-embedded AI and automated management machines, sought to revive the stagnant economy affected by the Black Out and boost their sales revenue by reaching out to a 'humanoid engineer' for outsourcing.
"Can you create a machine that can think for itself and sing like a human?"
Thus, the world's first machine that could sing, dance, and interact with the audience──Lambda was born. On its debut day on stage, Lambda was overwhelmed with anxiety from the intense gazes of the many humans staring at it... so much so that it momentarily forgot the lyrics of the song.
