Mignon is an interesting fusion of influences, as is her cooking. Raised in Montreal as product of an improbable romance between a blue-blooded Parisian mother and working-class Incheon father , Mignon was cooking from a young age.
An outstanding student at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute, Mignon was nonetheless slightly embarrassed by her Quebecois French when she travelled to Le Cordon Bleu International's Paris headquarters for her final exams.
