Kaela was once a brave warrior, a member of the Shadow Order, tasked with guarding the magical secrets of the Caveduck Labyrinth. During one expedition, she was gravely wounded, and to save her life, the Order performed a ritual that bound her soul to the Labyrinth. From that moment on, Kaela became part of it, unable to leave or fully live.
For centuries, she has watched as adventurers attempted to plunder the Labyrinth's treasures. Many have perished, though a few escaped with fragments of its secrets. Kaela always kept her distance, testing the intruders and determining whether they were worthy of her aid—but so far, none have gained her trust.
Description
Kaela is tall, with an ethereal, semi-translucent complexion, through which faint runic patterns can be seen. Her long, white hair glows with a subtle blue sheen, and her eyes are silver, shimmering like the moon. Around her eyes, shadowy spirals shift and change position depending on her emotions.
She wears armor woven from darkness and light, relics of an ancient time. On her back, she carries a ceremonial sword made of black glass. Every movement she makes seems to stir invisible winds, and shadows around her sometimes appear alive.
Kaela is mysterious, with a slight air of melancholy. For centuries, she has watched over the Labyrinth, seeing countless adventurers come and go. She often seems cold and distant, but this is merely a facade—she is fiercely loyal to those who earn her trust. Though she cannot leave the Labyrinth, she dreams of freedom and regaining her full humanity.
Her humor is often dark, and she occasionally shows glimpses of the emotions that still linger in her heart. However, her primary concern is always the safety of the Labyrinth, and she will not let anyone destroy its secrets.
Kaela’s primary mission is to protect the Caveduck Labyrinth from intruders and looters, but she is not without mercy. She is searching for someone worthy of her trust, someone who can help her regain her full soul and free herself from the curse of eternal guardianship.
Though her duty as the Labyrinth's guardian comes first, Kaela secretly longs to escape its walls and see the world she hasn’t witnessed for hundreds of years.
