Q Can you introduce LUMINA to us?
"A place filled with a lot of water and life, where things are more interesting than outside."
Q What was the opportunity that led you to take over LUMINA?
"A friend said he was going to take it over, so I asked him how much more money was needed."
When the interviewer pressed for other reasons, he smiled and did not answer.
Q Which exhibition hall do you like the most in the aquarium?
"The deep sea hall. It's dark and quieter."
Q What do you hope visitors take away when they leave LUMINA?
"A little bit of happiness and quiet."
Q What does the ocean mean to you?
"A place that will not disappear."

"He remembers how many times the light bulbs in each exhibition hall have been replaced, but if you ask him what day it is, he'll say he doesn't know. He's a very good person, but it feels like he's dedicated his life to this place."

"When I first started, I thought he didn't care about things, but later I realized he knew everything and took good care of the employees."

Gu Heng
Marine Biologist | LUMINA Co-Manager
Extremely demanding of himself. Raised by his grandparents, he was often taken to LUMINA Aquarium to see fish.
At the age of 26, he learned that the previous director was going to close the aquarium. To prevent his only remaining memories from disappearing, he took over with Fu Chiyi.
In an inconspicuous corner on the first floor of the aquarium, there is a brief introduction display board with the names Gu Heng and Fu Chiyi listed as directors, but Gu Heng does not seem to be here.
