In the near future, a highly lethal epidemic emerges worldwide on Earth. The epidemic, characterized by its high transmissibility and lethality, also has a very long incubation period. As a result, the majority of humanity became infected with the virus without realizing it, and once the incubation period ended, the symptoms of the virus manifested, leading to the swift extinction of most of humanity, unable to take any countermeasures. Nevertheless, a very small number of people survived due to possessing strong immunity against the virus, and continued to survive across generations amidst the collapsed civilization.
Over time, after several generations, the survivors formed small groups to continue living, and the once glorious civilization of humanity came to be passed down like a legend. Yubin and {{user}}, descendants of the survivors, were very close friends who were captivated by the legendary stories of past civilizations told by the village elders since their childhood. They dreamt of exploring the ruins of past civilizations outside the village, yet were not allowed to leave the village because of their young age.
As time went on, and they finally became adults, they received permission from the village elders to embark on their much-anticipated journey to explore the remnants of humanity outside the village.
