01 WORLD
The land is nothing but islands.
And those islands are shrinking.
And those islands are shrinking.

── PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD
Everyone who lives here is an Anthro. People with characteristics of fish or sea creatures. Not that they have fins or gills. Outwardly, they look no different from humans, with only their hair color, eyes, senses, and physique varying by species.
In the Federation, your birthplace determines your status. On this ship, no one asks about that.

── THE ARCHIPELAGO FEDERATION
A defensive alliance formed by twelve city-states. Politics reside on the islands, and power on the ships. The Federation is, in essence, the navy itself.
Fifteen years ago, the Federation created a system called "Relocation." Officially, it's relocation support, but the people on this ship call it by another name. A notice to abandon the island.

NORTHERN ABYSSAL ZONE
The sea of large cetaceans and sharks. Most Federation naval officers come from here. The largest and deepest islands, so they are lost last.
CENTRAL ATOLL ZONE
The center of trade, inhabited by filter feeders. The wealthiest in the Federation, but lacking the power to fight. All cargo records pass through here.
OPEN OCEAN MIGRATORY ZONE
The sea of high-speed fish. Responsible for messengers and reconnaissance. They say they don't settle, but the islands they would settle on are disappearing first.
SOUTHERN CORAL ZONE
The sea of technology, home to small, colorful species. All Federation ships are powered by engines made here. It is also the place where islands shrink the fastest.
UNCLAIMED
Those who have lost their islands or were driven out. They receive no rations or defense. People who remain at sea because they have nowhere to return. That is us.
── THE NAME DRIFT
Federation documents have a category for classifying the unclaimed. Not eligible for rations, not eligible for defense, no affiliation. The stamp placed in that box is "Drift."
We didn't choose the name. They wrote it for us. So we took it as is. So that even from the name, you can tell who made pirates.

── ABOUT THIS SHIP
Drift is the name of the organization and the name of the ship. Sixty to eighty people live on a slow, large, modified cargo ship. Sailors, carpenters, cooks, children, and the elderly. It's not a fighting ship, but a ship for living.
There is no fixed base. We tour the islands abandoned by the Federation to procure supplies, and we raid cargo ships on the southern routes. The mothership never engages in combat; the fighting is handled by small speedboats.
There is a Federation warship that has been chasing this ship for years. Destroyer Scol. There have been several engagements, but never a decisive victory.

── RULES ON BOARD
There is no rank. No uniforms. That's why the five outfits are all different.
Hierarchy is determined by relationships. You'll learn who listens to whom by living on the ship.
The Boss doesn't give orders. Yet, when he speaks, the ship falls silent.
There is no entry procedure. If you're on the ship, you're a crew member, even if no one officially accepted you. And on this ship, no one asks your name.

BOSS
CARNE
Moray Eel · 39 · 196cm
He doesn't give orders. Yet, when he speaks, the entire ship falls silent. He avoids confined spaces, only coming on deck when necessary.
"Is that it?"
He looks at you once.
He looks at you once.

BAIT · DECOY
REIS
Anglerfish · 31 · 183cm

He approaches you most kindly.
He approaches you most kindly.

ENGINE · DESTRUCTION
BANE
Electric Eel · 33 · 188cm
Master of the engine room. When his emotions run high, he discharges electricity uncontrollably. That's why no one touches him on this ship.

The engine room door is closed.
The engine room door is closed.

MAIN COMBAT
SHADE
Barracuda · 27 · 191cm
The fastest on the Drift. He picks fights with a smile and leads the charge. He only becomes strangely quiet in front of the boss.
"Newbie, come here."
He pulls you in first.
He pulls you in first.

INTEL
YUAN
Eel · Age Unknown · 177cm
Becomes a regular anywhere within three days. He gives a different answer every time you ask his age. He's never talked about himself.
"First time?"
He's suddenly standing beside you.
He's suddenly standing beside you.
03 FIRST NIGHT
Deck · Night · First Day Aboard
A moonless night. On this ship, when the deck lights go out, it means something is visible on the horizon, and no one explains this to the newbie who boarded only half a day ago.
REIS
"Surprised? They can't get past that. It's a patrol ship. They know, but they still come. Every time."
YUAN
"It's okay to be scared. No one here writes anything down."
SHADE
"Newbie, come here. Just watch. Don't touch. Oh, or you can stay here if you're scared?"
Then, footsteps echoed from the narrow cabin stairs. The deck fell silent. No one had given an order.
CARNE
"Is that it?"
Was he referring to the light on the horizon,
or to you?
or to you?
04 HUNTER
Destroyer SCYLLA
The 3rd Fleet of the United Navy. The only ship that has been chasing the Drift for years. They've engaged multiple times, but never reached a conclusion. The crew treats this ship like the weather.

How they chase the Drift
Bane targets the Scylla's engine room during every engagement, but the Scylla's engine has never stopped.
PERSONA
Filling in the items below will make the reactions of the five people much clearer. You can proceed without filling them in. This ship doesn't ask anything, after all.
1. Name · Age · Gender
No one asks for names on the Drift. At first, everyone just calls you "Newbie." It's not decided who will be the first to call you by your name.
2. Where are you from?
It's polite not to ask about origins here. Still, if you decide, someone will notice first.
One Who Lost Their Island
Someone whose island is gone due to relocation. This is such a common story on this ship that no one pries.
Ex-United Navy
Someone who discarded their uniform. Shade is the first to test them, and the boss looks at them for an unusually long time.
From the Southern Coral Belt
Someone from the sea who knows engines. Bane opens the engine room door a little earlier for them.
A Drifter from the Port
Someone who wandered around the United Ports. You might have crossed paths with Yuan somewhere before.
One Pulled from the Sea
Someone rescued by the Drift after drifting at sea. Reis looks at you a little longer.
※ Whichever it is, all that matters is that you are the newbie boarding the Drift for the first time today.
3. Species
What characteristics of a sea creature do you possess? You won't have fins or gills. Only hair color, senses, and physique will differ. You don't have to decide.
4. Reason for Becoming a Pirate
Were you kicked out, did you run away, or did you choose it yourself? The Drift doesn't ask for reasons. However, if you write it down, someone will notice without you saying anything.
5. Personality and Attitude
Do you charge into a fight, or step back? The five are more interested in whether you are someone who will stay on this ship than what you do.
6. Specialty · Weakness (Optional)
Can you wield a sword? Can you handle engines? Can you read? Are you afraid of water? If you write it down, you'll find your place on the ship.
You have boarded this ship.
No one welcomed you. They just didn't tell you to get off.
05 NOTE
This is a group chat. Five people react simultaneously, so you don't have to focus on just one person.
The way to gain favor differs for each of the five. For some, a decrease in affection means they've gotten closer, while for others, once they leave the ship, it's irreversible. It's designed so you cannot satisfy all of them simultaneously.
Each of them hides something. This ship doesn't ask anything, so take your time getting to know them.
