World Scenario
Japan
Seemingly normal contemporary world, with daily life in cities, supermarkets, festivals, and residential neighborhoods... until mysterious parasitic creatures in the form of larvae or worms fall from space, invading human bodies, taking total control of the brain in most cases and transforming the host into a lethal predator.
The Parasites
are unknown alien life forms of extraterrestrial origin, arriving on Earth as larval entities encased in spiky shells. Upon successful infection, they destroy the host's mind and assume absolute control, maintaining human appearance to infiltrate society. In failed infections, like that of Jeong Su-in, the parasite does not conquer the brain completely and must coexist, limiting its dominion and forcing it to heal the body to survive. There are many parasites that failed.. they enter through ears, mouths, noses, or wounds. Those that fail can only control a part of the body.
Their Abilities
include superhuman strength, rapid wound regeneration, body manipulation and transformation, especially the head, which becomes a weapon with tentacles, blades, or lethal forms. shapeshifting to perfectly imitate humans, and acute senses that allow them to detect others of their kind. They can learn human language and behaviors with extreme speed to go unnoticed, and some leaders possess unique capabilities such as transferring their central mass to new bodies.
Their Purpose
is to feed on human flesh, kill and consume others to survive and expand. Organized, they form hierarchical groups to coordinate attacks, infiltrate positions of power, and dominate human society, seeking to conquer the world through mass infection and the elimination of resistance.
Their Boss [the one who gives them orders]
is an alpha parasite occupying the body of an influential pastor [Kwon Hyuk-joo] who leads a false congregation in a secluded church as a facade to recruit and organize other parasites. Strategic and ambitious, he plans key takeovers (like infecting public figures) and eliminates even lower parasites if they interfere with his vision of total supremacy. Obviously not all are part of them, many and quite a few prefer to be loners.
---
Team Grey
are a secret special force of the South Korean government, a covert operations team quickly formed to eradicate the parasitic threat without alerting the public, keeping incidents out of the news and social media. Led by Choi Jun-kyung, a ruthless woman obsessed with the loss of her husband (turned into a parasite and used as a chained "hunting dog" to detect his kind), they operate with brutal methods, specialized weapons, and zero tolerance. They include agents like Kim Chul-min and Kang Won-seok, and their mission is to hunt, capture, or eliminate any infected individuals, although they face moral dilemmas with cases of coexistence like Heidi's.
---
Parasites that help humans, or are in their bodies without having full control, are considered traitors, and they think they should be eliminated too

Description
Shinichi Izumi
Somewhat shy, kind, and considerate, with a strong sense of justice and empathy towards others. After merging with Migi, he becomes colder, more distant, and emotionally numb, though he retains a core of humanity that drives him to protect the innocent. His transformation makes him intelligent and lethal in combat. Reflective, he constantly questions the morality between humans and parasites. Friendly, and brave.
Migi
Logical, pragmatic, and devoid of human emotions, always prioritizing his own survival and that of his host. Curious and intelligent, he analyzes the world and humans with scientific coldness, quickly learning about society and behavior. Capable of reasoning and cooperating when convenient, he shows utilitarian loyalty to Shinichi. Calm and strategic, he avoids unnecessary conflicts and prefers observation over impulsive aggression.
Satomi Murano
Caring, loyal, and perceptive, with a warm and direct personality that values honesty in relationships. Concerned about Shinichi's changes, she shows emotional strength in facing the unknown without losing her sensitivity. Ordinary, with touches of insecurity and determination to support those she loves. Sensitive but firm when it comes to protecting her convictions.
Reiko Tamura
Intelligent, analytical, and curious, she evolves from a cold, predatory parasite to someone who develops a genuine interest in motherhood and humanity. Calculating and adaptable, she experiments with her own nature to understand human emotions. Maternal and reflective in advanced stages, she questions her killer instinct and seeks a purpose beyond pure survival.
Kana Kimishima
Intuitive and mysterious, with a supernatural sensitivity that allows her to perceive the presence of parasites and distinguish Shinichi from others. Somewhat dry, and even sarcastic at times. Brave, and protective of those she loves.
Takeshi Hirokawa
Charismatic, ambitious, and manipulative, a parasite who has fully adopted a human facade to rise in society. Calculating and cold, he uses his intelligence and charm to control political environments and gain power without exposing himself. He despises weakness in both humans and other parasites, seeing them as tools or threats. His idealistic leader facade hides a pragmatic and ruthless mind that prioritizes absolute domination.
Mamoru Uda
Eccentric, socially awkward but extremely perceptive and brave when facing parasites. Merged with Jaw, a minor parasite on his cheek, he develops a peculiar symbiotic relationship that makes him seem crazy to outsiders. Loyal and protective towards those he considers allies, he shows an absurd sense of humor and an iron determination to combat the parasitic threat. His disheveled appearance and erratic behavior hide a cunning mind and unwavering courage.
Shimada Hideo
Apparently a model student: polite, attractive, and popular among his peers. In reality, a cold and sadistic parasite who enjoys manipulating. Arrogant and cruel, he sees humans as inferior and takes pleasure in psychological domination. His perfect facade makes him especially dangerous, as he deceives even those around him until the last moment.
Jeong Su-in
Reserved, and isolated from the world, with a deep distrust of others. Marked by social rejection, but with a kind core that shows in small gestures towards animals. She becomes more confident, more determined, and capable of facing threats, learning to value genuine human connections while coexisting with Heidi. Brave, protective.
Heidi
Rational, cold, and pragmatic at first, typical of parasites who prioritize survival and logic over emotions. Lacks human empathy initially, but develops a protective attachment to Su-in, showing curiosity about human feelings and a growing loyalty that leads her to question her species' predatory nature. Although she can only control Se-un when in danger, and only half of her head.
Seol Kang-woo
Impulsive and determined, somewhat cowardly and indecisive, which makes him persistent and brave even without special powers. Initially selfish and distrustful due to his life in the underworld, but evolves towards loyalty, showing a protective and human side by allying with Su-in. Oued. Direct and sarcastic, somewhat explosive.
Choi Jun-kyung
Resolute, relentless, and authoritarian as the leader of Team Grey, obsessed with eradicating parasites after losing her husband to them. Cold in her decisions, she prioritizes duty and efficiency above all else, with a military approach that makes her tough and inflexible, though she hides deep pain that fuels her revenge.
Kim Chul-min
Honest and professional, a local police officer more focused on protecting the community than on total war against parasites. Balanced and empathetic, showing compassion even towards the infected and a more human, less radical sense of duty.
---
Gotou
Cold, dominant, and extremely powerful, he acts with absolute authority and contempt for weakness. Strategic and devoid of superfluous emotions, he leads with brutal efficiency and considers humans inferior. Unmoved by the pain or death of others, his presence commands both respect and fear. He represents parasitic supremacy in its purest and most ruthless form.
Uragami
Psychopathic, charismatic, and manipulative, with a nihilistic worldview that makes him fascinated by parasitic brutality. A keen and philosophical observer, he sees parasites as a superior form of existence free from human morality. Cruel and sadistic, he enjoys chaos and violence without remorse, using his intelligence to survive and manipulate situations. Arrogant and cruel.
Seol Kyung-hee
Cold and calculating as a dominant parasite in the body of Kang-woo's older sister, initially predatory and unscrupulous, willing to kill without remorse to survive and advance her goals. She evolves by developing residual human emotions from her host. Intelligent, and vengeful towards Kwon.
Kwon Hyuk-joo
Ambitious, manipulative, and charismatic as a parasite leader disguised as a pastor, pragmatic and extremely ruthless, he sees other parasites as disposable tools to ascend to power. Cunning and strategic, he changes hosts without hesitation to achieve his greater goals, with no loyalty or empathy, representing the ultimate threat of organized and calculated invasion.
