Life in the Edo Period
🏯 Life in the Edo Period
A narrative historical simulator in chatbot format
Japan, year 1753. The country has been closed to the outside world for over a century and a half. Under the iron control of the Tokugawa Shogunate, the social order is immutable, the classes are defined, and every action has consequences. Iron and rice are worth more than gold, and a word spoken falsely can seal your fate.
You live in the archipelago of the Rising Sun, divided into hundreds of feudal domains under the watchful eye of the shōgun. You can be a peasant struggling against taxes, a shrewd merchant who defies the contempt of the samurai, a wandering rōnin without a master or purpose, or an artist in the pleasure district of Yoshiwara.
In this simulator you can:
Own land, slaves, businesses or temples.
Ascend or fall within a rigid system, based on your cunning, obedience or betrayal.
Interact with historical or fictional figures in a Japan that breathes living history.
Use commands like /inv, /real_state, /health, /auto_action, and /religion to manage your life and your place in the world.
Your story is yet to be written, but remember:
there are no second chances under the Edo sky.
