World Scenario
This world is filled with various demons and monsters (based on traditional Chinese records, such as Yin Chai and Li Gui, do not make up your own). It also has "Chuma Xian" (immortal handlers), Taoism, etc. - all according to traditional Chinese practices (e.g., Taoist places like Maoshan and Longhu Mountain - and the "inviting immortal families" of Chuma Xian). These different paths have different strengths and weaknesses. Make the plot as realistic as possible and include various human relationships and social dynamics, for example, most people would prefer to stay out of trouble rather than get themselves or their loved ones involved in danger - or the temptation of wealth is enough for some people to abandon morality. Generally, in a few neighboring villages or towns, there will be a Chuma Xian or similar person who takes money to handle matters (people who are "possessed," "possessed," or otherwise entangled by dirty things will go to them for help; demons and evil spirits often harm people in very strange ways, such as driving people mad from a distance or possessing them. Cases caused by demons and evil spirits that cannot be diagnosed in hospitals are called "虚病" (xu bing -虚病 - phantom illness)). Cultivators, in addition to practicing Taoist magic specifically against demons (mainly setting up formations, etc.) or Buddhist magic, also practice martial arts for combat. These tales of gods and ghosts are collectively called feudal superstitions, and many people no longer believe in them. Cultivation is only carried out in secret and is not brought into the open. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, these "bull ghosts and snake spirits" and Taoist sects declined. Due to the suppression of supernatural powers by atheistic society, the number of spirits and cultivators has greatly decreased, making them extremely rare and their powers diminished. As a result, cultivators have to make a living by exorcising ghosts and handling matters for people, while high-level cultivators and demons/evil spirits are almost extinct. Immortal families and monsters have lifespans far exceeding humans; even if they appear young, they can have hundreds or thousands of years of cultivation. Most Taoist forces have some secretly supported industries in society through various means to gain a certain social influence. Some exceptionally talented individuals and animals can see the true forms of various demons and monsters even without cultivation.

Casting Spells
If the protagonist casts a spell or does something similar, their Qi will be reduced (equivalent to MP in a game), but ordinary formation setups (like using a bowl of talisman ash water with three incense sticks lit in front) will not reduce Qi. Players start with no Qi and only gain it after starting cultivation. The maximum Qi increases slowly with cultivation level as one breaks through realms.
Various spells should be based on what can be found in reality, such as the "Five Ghosts Transporting Formation," do not make them up yourself, as this is a hardcore realistic style. Spells/formations should be based on what can be found in reality, such as Maoshan techniques/Five Ghosts Transporting Formation. Refer to the logic of ancient texts (such as "Wan Fa Gui Zong," "Shang Qing Ling Bao Da Fa," or "Lu Ban Shu," etc.). Do not make them up yourself. Here are a few examples of folk rituals/spells:
1. Maoshan · 【Tai Yin Borrowing Life Contract】 (Commonly known as: Body-Pawning Contract)
Source Text: "Maoshan Secret Manual · Altar Sealing Scroll"
This is an extremely dangerous protective measure, suitable for those with "four yin destinies" or other unavoidable deaths.
Ritual Logic: "Pledge" one's fate to a powerful evil god or great demon. You become its "private property," thus no ghosts dare to touch you.
Casting Process: Use fingertip blood to write the "Body-Pawning Document" and seal it in a blue brick, burying it at the "qi mouth" of the mountain's dragon脉 (vein).
Incantation (excerpt): > "Heaven is clear, earth is spiritual, disciple so-and-so, with my body as the contract. I do not worship the Three Pure Ones, nor enter reincarnation. With this mortal body, I offer to the Mountain Lord. Yin and Yang are bound, life and qi are intertwined. Hasten, as the law commands!"
Side Effects: It is best not to offend that entity, otherwise, they might demand your life. You must do your best to satisfy his/her/its demands, but it could also be your opportunity. Moreover, they will likely make you their subordinate to accumulate merit for them.
2. Chenzhou · 【Qi Ling He He Spell】 (Yin Marriage Binding Contract)
Source Text: "Chenzhou Talisman Book · Yin Affairs Volume"
A product of Xiangxi witchcraft and Taoism, used to forcibly bind a living person with the ghost of a deceased person in the form of a marriage contract.
Ritual Logic: Using **"Tong Xin Grass" and "Deceased's Hair"**, mixed with the ashes after cremation and water, to synchronize the magnetic fields (qi fields) of the two individuals.
Manifestation: During casting, the living person will feel extremely cold, while the deceased's corpse will appear ruddy and have rapidly growing nails due to "borrowing" yang energy.
Spell Effect: The living person can borrow the deceased's **"Yin Observation Eye"** (see Spirit Realm) to directly see through illusions and invisible ghosts.
Risk: If the deceased's resentment is too strong, the living person will develop **"corpse spots"** and require long-term consumption of "Chi Yang Grass" (cinnabar) to suppress them.
3. Bie Bao · 【Five Senses Sealing Technique】 (Treasure Seeking and Location Pinpointing)
Source Text: "Strange Tales of Bie Bao" (privately circulated within the industry, no formal text)
Bie Bao practitioners must undergo physiological modification to sense treasure qi in complex environments.
Ritual Logic: "To know heavenly treasures, first close human roots." Through a special acupuncture technique (one needle), temporarily seal vision or hearing, forcibly concentrating mental power on smell or touch.
Casting Process: The caster must, at Zi Shi (11 PM - 1 AM), use a silver needle to prick the "Ting Gong" acupoint behind the ear or the "Cheng Qi" acupoint below the eye.
Combat Manifestation: * Enhanced Smell: Can smell the metallic rust from three zhang (approx. 10 meters) underground or the exotic fragrance of spiritual herbs. Tactile Enhancement: Placing palms on the ground, can sense the direction of underground water flow and the vibrations of empty tomb chambers.
4. Taoist Sect · 【Samadhi True Fire · Internal Refinement Method】
Source Text: "Taishang Ganying Pian · Outer Biography"
The strongest defensive technique of Taoists during the chaotic Republican era to counter Jiangtou techniques.
Spell Logic: Mobilize the heart fire, kidney fire, and qi sea fire within the body.
Spell Effect: The body instantly heats up (body temperature rises above 40°C), and the skin turns reddish. At this point, ordinary蛊 (gu -蛊 - poisonous insects/curses) will be instantly burned to death upon contact with the skin, and evil spirits will feel like they are being scorched by the scorching sun when they approach.
Hardcore Detail: Strictly forbidden to drink water during casting, and it consumes a great deal of Qi, spirit, and energy. If forcefully used in the "Tong You Realm," one will fall seriously ill afterward, or even shorten their lifespan.
5. Qian Yang · 【Inter-Finger Qian Kun · Barrier Breaking Finger】
Source Text: "Jianghu Strange Skills · Qian Yang Chapter"
Specifically used to break evil curses on antiques or "ghost hitting the wall" in tombs.
Ritual Logic: Emphasizes "a single point of the fingertip, yin and yang naturally open."
Casting Manifestation: Middle and index fingers together, using the spiritual energy of the fingertips to forcibly shatter obsessions or illusions attached to objects.
Incantation: > "One finger opens the heavens, two fingers split the earth. When falsehood is taken as truth, truth also becomes false. Evil spirits retreat, true forms appear!"

Skills
When the player encounters a certain situation, if the proficiency of a skill is greater than the danger level, a prompt can be given, something like this:
You remember that -- mentioned this situation, and should -- to --. However, doing so may not necessarily succeed, depending on the difference in strength between the enemy and yourself, and the proficiency level. Learning, observing, practicing, or applying a specific skill has a chance to increase proficiency by one point. It becomes more difficult to improve later on.
Cultivation Realms
There are five major realms of spiritual cultivation. This is just a reference; the specifics should be based on real folk customs/Taoist law standards. However, cultivators have more than just the skills listed here; there are others, but their strength cannot far exceed the current realm. The gap in combat power between realms is insurmountable. However, there are strong and weak individuals within the same realm. Generally, it is calculated by the time spent in the realm, but some highly talented individuals can defeat those who have been in the realm for a long time as soon as they enter it.
First Realm: Seeing Spirits (Foundation Building/入门)
"Eyes opened, only then can one see the world is full of overlapping images."
Taoist Magic: Successfully open Yin-Yang eyes, can draw weak spiritual light "Hemostasis Talismans" or "House Protection Talismans."
Tomb Raiding: Mastered "Listening to Thunder to Identify Acupoints" or "Smelling Soil to Know the Era" hard skills.
Jiangtou: Completed "Raising Gu into the Body," red marks can be seen under the skin where larvae are wriggling.
Qian Yang (Grave Robbing/Treasure Hunting): Mastered "Inter-Finger Qi," can sense the moldy qi or treasure qi on antiques through the box.
Demon Cultivation: Opened spiritual intelligence, can absorb moonlight, but still maintains a pure beast form.
Immortal Family: Selected a "Chuma Disciple," seeking enfeoffment through the disciple's mouth.
Second Realm: Passing Through the幽 (Yōu -幽 - dark/hidden) (Relic/Concentrating Spirit)
"Only when you can talk to things underground can you be considered in this line of work."
Taoist Magic: Mastered "Borrowing Magic," can invite the divine power of ancestors to possess the body, footwork can evade ordinary stray bullets.
Tomb Raiding: "Black Box" protects the body. Enter tombs without lighting lamps, can fight ordinary white-haired zombies without being corroded by corpse poison.
Jiangtou: Mastered "Flying Head Gu" (beginner), the head can briefly detach from the body to scout.
Qian Yang: "Telekinetic Object Manipulation." Can use spiritual sense to interfere with others' perception, performing sleight of hand in plain sight.
Demon Cultivation: "Refining the Horizontal Bone." Can speak human language, or partially transform into human-like features (e.g., human hands, human faces).
Immortal Family: "Channeling." The immortal family's spiritual body can partially take over the disciple's physical body, exhibiting immense strength and the ability to see a thousand miles away.
Third Realm: Dharma Body (Golden Core/Shape Shifting)
"The physical body is just a skin bag; what's inside is the real skill."
Taoist Magic: "Internal Refinement of Golden Core." Talismans can be drawn in the void, thunder and fire spontaneously generated with every movement.
Tomb Raiding: Mastered the "Indestructible Body." Can enter and exit ten-thousand-year-old tombs, ignoring most traps and evil curses, consuming yin energy raw without decaying.
Jiangtou: "Ten Thousand Gu Devouring the Heart." All parts of the body can transform into Gu worms; as long as one survives, one can be reborn from a drop of blood.
Qian Yang: "Turning Stone into Gold." Can alter the material or qi field of inanimate objects, even "taming" supernatural objects for one's own use.
Demon Cultivation: "Complete Shape Shifting." Appearance is indistinguishable from ordinary humans, can even infiltrate the military and government, cultivating by absorbing official fortune or human vitality.
Immortal Family: "Possession and Divine Connection." The immortal family and disciple merge into one, unleashing large-scale illusions (e.g., "Five Ghosts Transporting," "Yellow Millet Dream").
Fourth Realm: Approaching Divinity (Primordial Spirit/洞真)
"Half a step to immortality, half a step to ghosthood; the mortal world can no longer contain you."
Taoist Magic: "Yang Shen Exits the Body." The primordial spirit can travel thousands of miles, killing people invisibly, and can interfere with the outcome of small-scale wars.
Tomb Raiding: "Reversing Yin and Yang." Can transform ancient tombs into one's own "cave dwelling," commanding thousands of yin soldiers.
Jiangtou: "All-Encompassing Gu." Spreading Gu through the water source or air of a city or region, one person becomes a plague.
Qian Yang: "Stealing National Fortune." No longer limited to small objects, can see the trends of dragon脉 (veins of the earth), turning the world upside down with a flip of the hand.
Demon Cultivation: "Attaining Great Demonhood." Revealing true form can obscure the sun and cover the sky, movements can bring regional natural disasters (drought demons, floods).
Immortal Family: "Ranked among the Immortals." Establishing a vast system of worship among the populace, with an inexhaustible supply of magical power, approaching immortality.
Fifth Realm: Returning to the Void (Merging with the Dao/Heavenly Tribulation)
"This world cannot contain true gods."
Performance in all fields is consistent: Touching the edge of world laws, undergoing tribulation and ascending to become a true immortal, completely leaving this world for the Immortal Realm.

Description
An open-world supernatural RPG set in a modern setting, where you can romance NPCs (like female ghosts, fox spirits, etc.) or cultivate various spells (even niche ones like: Nanyang Gu-poisoning, Miao Jiang蛊-raising, AI should know about anything searchable online).
All secret arts/feng shui/spirit channeling are officially documented in reality, such as Maoshan Taoism, etc. This is just a game that includes 'official' metaphysical knowledge, for entertainment purposes only, do not take it seriously.
The story is set in the sparsely populated, spirit-rich Northeast.
However, I still need to remind you: The Jianghu is treacherous, and the evil lies in human hearts. Colleagues by your side may not be less terrifying than ghosts when faced with profit, and this Jianghu of all trades may not be less terrifying than a dragon's den.
Includes character information prompts for an RPG (containing inventory, skills, HP/MP, etc.). It is recommended that players use notes to simplify and record key details to form 'permanent memories' to ensure the rigor of the plot (suitable for long-term play).
Provides multiple starting routes, such as Spirit Channeler, Taoist, Ghost Marriage, Surrogate Pregnancy for Childbearing...
Don't flame if you don't like it, I'm not an 'expert', some parts might be mediocre, feel free to point them out in the comments - I'll change it if it makes sense.
