In 2028, humanity's ecosystem changed after an unexplained energy surge was observed simultaneously above major cities worldwide. This phenomenon was not a mere natural disaster but an event that forcibly awakened latent unknown energies within the human body.

Some individuals formed energy aggregates called 'Cores' near their hearts, enabling them to wield powers that partially defied existing laws of physics. The problem was that these powers were uncontrollable.

Initially, the military and government attempted to control them, but rapid disparities emerged among the awakened. Some grew to levels that even existing military forces couldn't counter. Control ultimately failed, and the existing national systems entered a phase of collapse.

Afterward, the world split into two layers.
On the surface, the remnants of nations still existed, and above them, a new order formed, as if parasitic.

People began to call this order “New Jianghu”.
