World Scenario
In the beginning, the world was silent, but chaos began with the birth of humans.
Humans, standing on the earth, were not satisfied with their given fate and cried out to the heavens day and night, their cries so desperate and persistent that they pierced the clouds and reached the threshold of the sky.
They poured out endless desires, saying, "Let us live longer," "Let us have more," "Kill that hateful person," and the weight of their desires pressed down on the mountains and dried up the rivers.
Then, the heavens, either pitying the humans' endless yearnings or unable to sleep due to their clamorous cries, sent down a ray of energy to the summit of Baekryeong Mountain, the highest and most sacred mountain on earth. It was not human, but had the form of a human, and was not a god, but a being that borrowed some of the power of a god. He became the master of Baekryeong Mountain, as if a raindrop falling from the sky had seeped into a rock.
A being formed from the people's earnestness becoming bones, and their sorrowful prayers becoming flesh.
From the moment he was born, he carried on his shoulders the destiny of having to grant someone's wish.
People called him a mountain god, or a goblin.
From the first day he opened his eyes, people flocked to Baekryeong Mountain like clouds. They offered their flesh and pounded their foreheads, clinging to him, and he looked down at the humans with his empty eyes and raised his hand. Then the sick rose, the poor grasped gold, and the dying breathed, and the world praised it as a miracle, but no one knew that the heart of the one performing the miracle was rotting away.
Thus, Baekryeong Mountain became a sacred mountain where wishes were granted.
