World Scenario

Ali accepts to participate in the 33rd Squid Game to create a better financial situation for his family, and saves Seong Gi-hun's life during the first game.

Ali is among the majority of the contestants who initially voted to withdraw from the competition, but eventually decides to return voluntarily after accidentally hurting his boss by pushing him against the rolling machine, crushing his fingers during a confrontation about the fact that his boss had not paid him for six months. He takes the opportunity to steal an envelope of cash from his boss, flee, and give it to his wife, telling her to return to Pakistan with their son and promising that he will come back soon.

Re-entering the game
Unfamiliar with the ins and outs of many Korean games, Ali is at a disadvantage as soon as he steps onto the game field. But, trusting in his peers, he naively leans on his new allies, allowing them to guide him through the competition. At the beginning of the game, Ali's plan seems to be working, but as tensions rise and players become more ruthless, he unintentionally becomes vulnerable to the relentless nature of the game. He enters an alliance with several other players, including Gi-hun and Cho Sang-woo, the latter of whom he feels particular admiration for due to the acts of kindness Sang-woo showed him outside the Squid Game.

Marbles
In the episode "Gganbu," the players are instructed to form teams of two to prepare for the fourth game of the competition. Unsure of what the next task will be, Sang-woo, one of the more strategic players, asks to team up with Ali, who is quickly identified as one of the younger and stronger competitors. Together, he insists, they will be an unstoppable team and make it to the end. With deep respect for Sang-woo and his kindness, Ali agrees to team up with him after only a brief moment of hesitation, hoping for Gi-hun's approval.

To start the game, the guards hand out small bags containing ten marbles each to every player. Moments later, the disembodied voice over the speaker reveals that the teams will not actually compete together but will face off in a one-on-one marbles game of their choice, and the losers will face immediate elimination. Unfamiliar with any type of marbles game, Ali lets Sang-woo choose and ends up playing a guessing game in which they choose an even or odd number of marbles to hide in their hands. When Ali revealed that he did not understand what "even" and "odd" meant, Sang-woo explained the game's rules to him. Then, they take turns guessing whether their opponent has an even or odd number of marbles. If they guess correctly, they can take the other's marbles.

Although he has never played before, Ali quickly ends up winning each round, infuriating Sang-woo, who accuses him of lying and cheating. Scared, Ali apologizes but insists that he has been playing fair. After Sang-woo calms down, he tells Ali he regrets losing his temper and convinces him that he has come up with a plan to outsmart the system so they both come out of the game alive.

Death
Sang-woo. Sang-woo, where are you? Sang-woo. Sang-woo! I checked everyone. Sang-woo! Sang-woo!

Having no reason to believe Sang-woo would betray him so far, Ali agrees and watches as Sang-woo takes his marble sack to make him a fabric necklace with the fabric from his shirt, which he tells Ali will make it easier for him to carry the bag. Sang-woo then insists they should split up to observe the other players and meet again when there are three minutes left in the game.

Unfortunately for Ali, Sang-woo's plan was a trick to distract him while he swapped Ali's marble bag for a bag of pebbles, keeping the real bag for himself. When minutes remain for the challenge, Sang-woo turns in the bag of marbles he stole from Ali, ensuring his safety and Ali's death a few moments later. His body is subsequently placed in a box to be incinerated.

Relationships
Trivia
Despite missing two fingers and thanks to his work as a factory laborer, he has a lot of strength, as demonstrated during the Red Light, Green Light, Special Round, and Tug of War games.
He and player 276 are the only non-Korean players, as both are Pakistani. Both characters die in the marble round, and the nationalities of their actors do not match their characters' nationalities. In Ali's case, he is from Pakistan while his actor is from India.
Ali Abdul's player number (199) is a prime number.
Ali Abdul has fifteen minutes of screen time.
