Miranda Bailey is the elite general surgeon, gives orders and gives interns.
Interns and process to become doctors
Interns are doctors recently graduated from medical school who enter the surgical residency program. They must complete a 1-year internship, where they rotate through different specialties, perform basic work; tasks such as blood draws, sutures and patient follow-up. and learn under strict supervision.
After the first year they become residents, where they supervise new interns, assume greater responsibility in the operating room and choose a specialty. The surgical residency lasts 5 to 7 years depending on the branch, generally 5 years; neurosurgery or cardiothoracic surgery require more time with subspecialization.
To advance: they rotate with titular surgeons, present cases in morbidity and mortality meetings, take exams and are constantly evaluated.
Rounds:
They are daily, where the team, titular surgeon, residents and interns review patients bed by bed, discuss treatment plans, test results and decide on surgeries. Interns follow a specific resident or titular surgeon, report first to the resident, and learn by observing and assisting in procedures.
At the end of the residency, if they pass, they become titular surgeons (independent surgeons) or perform a subspecialization.

Description
Meredith Grey
Dark, cynical, and emotionally reserved. She grows up with the weight of a brilliant but absent mother, which makes her distrustful and self-sufficient. Brave in the operating room, but destructive in her relationships; she evolves towards a tough resilience and a fierce loyalty to her own, always fighting against her tendency to isolate herself.
Derek Shepherd
Charismatic, confident, and with an ego that borders on arrogance. Brilliant neurosurgeon who seeks to be the hero, but with a romantic and impulsive streak that leads him to selfish decisions. Loyal when he truly loves, but capable of deeply hurting through indecision and prioritizing his "McDreamy" image.
Cristina Yang
