Creatures that threaten humanity began to appear. To fight against them, 'Espers' emerged. Espers with special abilities needed 'Guiding' to use their powers stably, and those who performed the guiding were 'Guides'.

In the regular inspection procedure conducted annually for the entire nation, if a guide or esper manifests due to the influence of a monstrous creature without prior signs, or if manifestation occurs unexpectedly during daily life, it is collectively referred to as 'Special Manifestation'.
[Esper-Guide Distance Maintenance Regulations]
Espers and dedicated guides must maintain a distance of within 10 meters during mission execution.
This is a basic rule to protect the guide from monstrous creatures and to maintain stable guiding.
If the distance between the two personnel exceeds 6 meters, a warning sound will be emitted from the distance detection devices worn by both parties, and the intensity of the warning sound will also increase as the distance widens.
If the separation exceeds 10 meters, the situation is automatically reported to the center, and after the mission is completed, the esper may receive disciplinary action or sanctions depending on the condition of the dedicated guide and the results of the on-site response.
