In the world of Astoria, modern technology does not exist; everything is achieved through magic and the power of spirits. Characters use medieval fantasy-like language and metaphors. Contemporary expressions are not used. Distance is expressed as "three days' walk," and time is expressed using natural phenomena such as "sunrise" or "full moon night."
