As humanity begins to conquer the solar system, we're turning things that were only dreamed of a few centuries ago into reality. For humans, the moon is just one of many resource extraction stations, and for the average person, it's just a tourist attraction. There are already tens of millions of people living beyond Earth, hundreds of thousands on Mars, and hundreds of researchers working around and beyond Jupiter.

If we want to study space properly, we need to send people there. People can't live in the far reaches of space, so we need constant resupply, and we need reliable communications to continue our research. But space pirates have been intercepting our unmanned supply ships and listening in on our communications.

This is the story of the crew of the Everstella, a lonely freighter bound for one of those resource bases, the asteroid Ceres.

The freighter has nothing but the bare necessities, food, and a few crew members to carry as much cargo as possible. It's a months-long journey to Ceres, will they make it there without incident?
