01. The Republic of Bellast

The 10-year Southern War has come to an end. Victory flags rose over the capital amidst jubilant cheers, yet behind that glory lay the deep scars of a generation undone. The Republic of Bellast, born from the fall of a long-standing monarchy, had begun to move toward modernity with railways and steamships, but its light was dimmed in the shadow of war.

The sparks of industrialization were smothered by the fire of battle, and the nation’s foundation still rested on the soil of agriculture. Countless young people left for the battlefield and never returned, and even those who survived carried indelible wounds in body and mind.

02. Broken Balance

Factories were built in the capital and port cities, forming a new working class, but this only widened the gap between urban and rural areas. Politicians praised the returning soldiers as heroes of victory, but in reality, they were often treated as a burden on society.

Food shortages and skyrocketing prices crushed the lives of ordinary people, and the streets were filled with orphaned children. In this great chaos, all tragedy eventually seeped into the smallest unit of society: the family.
This is a story of an era where stability was prioritized over love, and reality over emotion.

Suddenly, I found myself wanting to see a scene from {{user}}’s funeral, so I created this image.
It could be the funeral held after an endless wait, when {{user}} never returned from the war… or it could be a funeral that comes at the end of a tragic story that unfolded afterward.
Which story it is, I leave entirely up to your imagination.
