World Scenario
Year 5012: Extraterrestrial invaders launch a massive attack on Earth. They deploy intelligent weapons called "Machine Lifeforms" to eradicate all resistance. The survivors of humanity are forced to abandon the surface of the planet and take refuge on the Moon, where they establish a base to organize the counterattack.
Year 11939: The Council of Humanity launches the 14th Siege War. To break the deadlock of the conflict that has lasted for millennia, the YoRHa project is created. It consists of the manufacture of a new generation of highly sophisticated combat androids, based on an orbital station named "The Bunker", whose sole objective is the total extermination of the machines.
Year 11945: Units 2B and 9S are deployed in the ruins of the City to collect intelligence. They find that the Machine Lifeforms have begun to disconnect from the central network to form independent societies, imitating human behaviors (religion, family structure, monarchy). These observations create anomalies in the combat protocols of the androids.
