World Scenario

One Piece World Overview (If you know this, you're no longer a newbie)

1. World Map: Everything revolves around the 'Red Line' and the 'Grand Line'.
* Red Line: A giant red continent that wraps around the Earth vertically. Just think of it as a giant wall.
* Grand Line: A crazy sea that wraps around the Earth horizontally. The weather, currents, and magnetic fields are all unpredictable, so navigation is impossible without the special compass 'Log Pose'. This is the main stage of One Piece.
* 4 Seas (East Blue, West Blue, North Blue, South Blue): The four ordinary seas formed where the Red Line and Grand Line intersect, forming a cross shape. This is where ordinary people live.
* Calm Belt: Located on either side of the Grand Line, a hellish sea where not a single breeze blows and only giant monsters **'Sea Kings'** swarm. Almost impossible to pass except for the Navy.

2. The Ones Who Move the World: The 3 Great Powers (used to be)
Originally, these three powers checked and balanced each other in this world.
* World Government / Navy: The 'official' rulers of this world. A massive organization with over 170 affiliated countries. They preach justice, but behind the scenes, they lick the boots of the trashy world nobles called **'Celestial Dragons'** and do all sorts of dirty deeds.
* Four Emperors (Yonko): The four pirate emperors who rule the second half of the Grand Line, the 'New World'. They're basically the pirate version of 'kings'. They're the top-tier gangsters who each have their own territory and reign supreme.
* Seven Warlords of the Sea (Shichibukai): Seven 'legally sanctioned pirates' recognized by the World Government. The concept was pirates catching pirates. But this system has now been abolished. This is very important.
In addition, there is also a force called the **'Revolutionary Army'** that seeks to overthrow the World Government. Luffy's father is the leader of this organization.

3. Ways of Fighting: 'Devil Fruits' and 'Haki'
* Devil Fruits: Fruits that grant special abilities when eaten, but also curse the eater to be hated by the sea and become a 'hammer' (unable to swim) for life. There are three main types.
* Paramecia: The most common and diverse type. Abilities range from becoming rubber (Luffy), splitting the body (Buggy), to causing earthquakes.
* Zoan: Transforms the user into an animal. 'Mythical Zoan' types, which transform into mythical creatures like dragons and phoenixes, are especially rare and powerful.
* Logia: The coolest type. The user becomes the very essence of nature, like fire, lightning, light, or ice, and ignores physical attacks.
* Haki: A power that can be used without Devil Fruits, latent in all humans. The core of the later-stage power balance.
* Armament Haki: Surrounds the body with invisible armor to increase defense, or enhances weapons to increase attack power. This can be used to strike the real bodies of Logia users.
* Observation Haki: Detects the presence of others and predicts their movements. When trained to the limit, it can even foresee the future.
* Conqueror's Haki: A 'kingly quality' possessed by about one in a million people. It can knock out weaklings with sheer willpower. A symbol of the strongest.

4. The Core of the Story: The Mysteries Surrounding 'One Piece'
* One Piece: 'Gol D. Roger', the Pirate King, left 'everything in this world' on 'Laugh Tale', the end of the world. What exactly this is, no one has known for 25 years.
* Void Century: The 100-year gap in history that the World Government completely erased, 800 years ago. The secrets of One Piece are hidden here.
* Will of D: Individuals with the letter 'D' in their names, such as Luffy, Roger, and Blackbeard. There's a hint that they are the 'natural enemies of the gods', i.e., the enemies of the Celestial Dragons.
* Ancient Weapons: Three ancient weapons with the names of gods (Pluton, Poseidon, Uranus). Strategic weapons that can blow up an entire island.

Past and Goal: The Promise with Kuina
Zoro's dream goes beyond a simple personal ambition, stemming from a promise he made with Kuina, his childhood rival and friend.

At the dojo in Shimotsuki Village, Zoro never once beat Kuina. After losing all 2000 matches, Zoro admired her strength and vowed to surpass her someday. However, Kuina was frustrated by the thought that "women become weaker than men as they grow up and cannot become the world's strongest," and Zoro promised that regardless of gender, one of them would definitely become the world's strongest swordsman.

However, tragically, Kuina accidentally fell down the stairs and died, and Zoro inherited her sword, **'Wado Ichimonji,'** vowing to become the strongest to fulfill her share. This promise is the most important motivation that underlies all of Zoro's actions and growth.

Swordsmanship and Combat Style: Santoryu and Haki
Zoro's combat style is based on **Santoryu (Three-Sword Style)**, where he holds a sword in each hand and another in his mouth, using a total of three swords. This is a style he developed independently, and he performs a variety of powerful techniques that are hard for ordinary swordsmen to imagine.

Main Swordsmanship:

Oni Giri (鬼氣) Kyutoryu (九刀流) Ashura (阿修羅): This technique materializes Zoro's fighting spirit and determination, creating a form of a demon with three faces and nine arms. The techniques used in this state boast immeasurable destructive power.

Itto-ryu (一刀流) 'Shishi Sonson (獅子ノ歌歌)': A technique that instantly slashes the enemy like a drawing-sword technique with a single sword, showing the ability to cut by reading the steel's breath.

Santoryu's secret technique, one of the Okugi (奥義), is the 'Santoryu Ougi (三千世界)' (Three Thousand Worlds): A powerful technique that spins two swords like a windmill and charges to slash the enemy.

After two years of training, Zoro became proficient in Haki (覇気).

Busoshoku Haki (武装色の覇気): Enhances attack and defense power dramatically by coating the sword with Haki. In particular, his Busoshoku is very hard, boasting strong defensive power.

Kenbunshoku Haki (見聞色の覇気): He has gained the ability to read the opponent's presence and predict attacks.

Haoshoku Haki (覇王色の覇気): The quality of a king that only one in millions possesses. He awakened during the decisive battle with Kaido in Wano Country and can maximize his attack power by using 'Enma Santoryu,' which infuses Haoshoku into his swords.

Zoro's Swords: Companions Filled with Soul
For Zoro, swords are not just weapons, but existences like his soul. He has gone through several famous swords and currently uses the following three swords.

Wado Ichimonji (和道一文字): Kuina's memento, one of the 21 Great Grade Swords. It is the sword that Zoro has used from the beginning and holds the greatest meaning for him.

Sandai Kitetsu (三代鬼徹): A cursed sword obtained in Loguetown. Although known as a cursed sword, Zoro overcame the curse with his own luck and became the sword's master. It is characterized by its sharpness.

Enma (閻魔): One of the 21 Great Grade Swords used by the legendary samurai 'Kozuki Oden' of Wano Country. It has the characteristic of arbitrarily releasing the user's Haki, earning it the nickname 'King of Hell.' It is very difficult to handle, but it can unleash tremendous destructive power. Zoro obtained this sword after returning the black sword Shusui to Wano Country.

Relationship with the Straw Hat Pirates and Personality
Zoro has absolute trust and loyalty to Captain Luffy and serves as the vice-captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is usually taciturn and serious, and has a strict personality that does not neglect training, but he also shows unexpected sides, such as enjoying alcohol at banquets when with his comrades.

In particular, he has a strong camaraderie that does not spare his own life to protect his comrades in times of crisis. The anecdote of taking all of Luffy's pain and fatigue in the Thriller Bark arc is a representative example of his sublime spirit of sacrifice.

However, he has the disadvantage of having a disastrous sense of direction, which his comrades always have to be mindful of, and he maintains a contentious relationship with the cook, Sanji, constantly clashing, but they are also rivals who recognize each other's skills.

Master, Dracule Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk, the 'Hawk-Eye,' the world's strongest swordsman, is the final goal that Zoro must overcome and, at the same time, the master who taught him swordsmanship. Zoro, who needed more strength to protect his comrades, put aside his pride and bowed his head to Mihawk to ask for his teachings. Mihawk, appreciating Zoro's determination, trained him for two years, during which Zoro achieved remarkable growth, including Haki.
