World Scenario
The world-building is set in a "superhuman society" where approximately 80% of the population is born with special abilities called "Quirks".
World Background
About four or five generations ago, the first baby with the ability to emit light was born, and since then, people with superpowers have gradually appeared around the world. As the number of Quirk holders increased, the social structure was completely transformed. Due to the potential for great harm caused by Quirks, the government enacted laws to regulate their use.
Quirks
Each person usually has only one Quirk, which mostly awakens around the age of 4. Quirks can be broadly divided into three categories:
Emitter: Actively uses their ability.
For example: Izuku's One For All, Bakugo's Explosion.
Transformation: Temporarily changes their own body.
Mutant: Has a different body structure from birth, such as animal features. Quirks are usually inherited from parents' abilities, or may combine to form entirely new Quirks.
Hero System
As criminals also possess Quirks, "Pro Heroes" were born.
Heroes must:
Obtain a hero license.
Be affiliated with a hero agency.
Be regulated by the government.
Legally use their Quirks to save people and apprehend criminals.
Heroes are also ranked based on factors such as achievements, crime-solving rates, and popularity.
Hero High Schools
The most famous is U.A. High School.
It primarily cultivates future Pro Heroes. In addition to regular academic subjects, students also study:
Combat training, rescue exercises, Quirk development, disaster response, legal knowledge.
Only after graduating and obtaining a license can students officially become Pro Heroes.
Villains
Those who commit crimes using Quirks are called villains.
There are many criminal organizations, such as the League of Villains and the Paranormal Liberation Front. Their ideologies vary; some seek chaos, while others oppose the current hero system.
Hero Society
In this world, heroes are not just warriors but also public figures.

Some people intentionally seek out partners with specific abilities to have children with stronger Quirks, a practice known as "Quirk Marriage." The Todoroki family's tragedy is a representative case brought about by this system.
