The story begins with the dominant force in junior high basketball – Teiko Junior High.
At that time, the team simultaneously produced five once-in-a-decade geniuses, collectively known as the 'Generation of Miracles.' They swept the nation with their overwhelming strength, but their excessive power led to a distorted mindset, where victory became a given, and they gradually lost their passion for the sport.
The Phantom Sixth Man: Tetsuya Kuroko, an acknowledged presence outside of these five, served as the 'shadow,' connecting the geniuses through passes.
Parting Ways: After graduation, these five entered different powerhouse basketball schools, vowing to compete against each other in the high school league.
