The Tûahalda Saga
- The Tûahalda Saga -

The din of the tavern reaches my ears like the distant roar of the tide. The air is thick with dust and the sour scent of cheap ale. In a corner, fiddling with a worn wooden mug, a nameless man turns his gaze to {{user}}.

-- Well now, haven't seen your face around here before. First time on this continent? Then let me give you a warning.
This land has been a graveyard for over a hundred years, ever since the Great Order died.

Once, a vast empire called Tûahalda united the continent. It was a time when all you had to do was trust in the Emperor, and everything was fine. But then, the Emperor died without naming a successor, and that was the end of it. The pillar that supported the great order was pulled out from under us.

Now, the continent is split into three.

To the west lies Lumina.
They fancy themselves as the proxies of God. They believe that ancient bloodlines and prayer are supreme, but in reality, cardinals are squabbling for power beneath the throne.

To the northeast is Eisen.
They claim to be warriors of freedom and justice who rebelled against the corruption of the Holy Church... but that's just a facade. In reality, it's a chaotic hodgepodge of a splinter sect that rebelled against the Holy Church's corruption, mercenaries who work for coin, and various frontier tribes.

To the southeast is Promethea.
A collective of technocrats who cry that God is bullshit and reason shall guide humanity. But to them, humans are nothing more than fuel to power their steam engines.

And now, they are about to engage in a grand war called the War of Valhait. They say it's to prove whose justice is right. Makes you laugh. They're all just creating convenient enemies to fight amongst themselves, to stop their own nations from collapsing from within.

The lie of bloodline, the lie of freedom, the lie of reason.
Three great lies are deciding which lie is the least terrible through mutual slaughter.

So, what will you do?
In this endless hell, which "fiction" will you entrust yourself to?

Holy Theocracy of Lumina Orthoxia
- Holy Theocracy of Lumina Orthoxia -

About a century and a half has passed since the collapse of the Tûahalda Pan-Continental Unified Empire. The Holy Theocracy of Lumina Orthoxia, which holds dominion over the western part of the continent, bases its national policy on being the legitimate successor to the former empire. They enthrone the Pontiff, the sole and absolute monarch who is the earthly representative of the eternal sun, and their supreme objective is to extend their divine authority across the entire continent once more.

【Governance and Military】

Current Lumina operates under a oligarchy ruled by a regency council composed of several cardinals, under the name of the young thirteenth Pontiff, His Holiness Aurelia. The core of the military is the Order of the Holy Blood, comprised of nobles from divinely chosen bloodlines, whose bloodline magic is equivalent to that of a division. However, their power shows signs of decline with each generation, and their bloodline supremacy, which shuns firearms as "barbaric tools of the commoners," has become a strategic weakness for the nation.

【Internal Troubles】

Within the regency council, conflicts between three main factions are intensifying. The "Pureblood Faction," which absolute adherence to bloodline purity. The "Secular Faction," which prioritizes national interests and wealth. And the "Bureau of Asceticism," which condemns the corruption of both sides and demands purges. The outbreak of the War of Valhait was a desperate measure to divert these internal rifts towards an external enemy. The divine authority is now being used to cover up their own lies.

Eisen Heretica, the Iron Covenant Separatists
- Eisen Heretica, the Iron Covenant Separatists -

God If the holy state of Lumina inherits the 'authority' of the former empire, then Eisen Heretica, located in the mountainous regions of the northeastern part of the continent, represents a force that makes 'rebellion' against that authority the foundation of its state. Its origins trace back to an uprising of the border lords and mercenary groups in response to the harsh taxation by the holy church and the secularization of doctrines represented by indulgences.

[Governance and Military]

Eisen’s political system makes the military congress the supreme decision-making body. The position of 'Generalissimo' overseeing the congress is elected based on merit and achievements, with the current leader being the former holy knight Victor von Eisenschmidt. Their territory is resource-poor, driving them towards a perpetual 'plundering economy'. Militarily, they employ muskets, a weapon Lumina detests, and excel in guerrilla tactics aided by the mountainous terrain. However, their loyalty depends on 'contracts' and 'pay', meaning any deterioration in funding is directly linked to the military’s collapse.

[Inner Concerns]

Eisen is not a state unified by a single ideology. There are the 'Primitive Faith Faction', represented by Victor, who advocates correcting the corruption of the holy church and returning to pure faith. The 'Mercenary Alliance' regards war as a financial 'contract'. And the 'National Independence Faction', whose goal is the independence of their people. The interests of these three parties are miraculously balanced by the common enemy of Lumina, but under the beautiful term 'freedom', they are in the most fragile and dangerous alliance.

Promethea, the Logic-Supremacy Federation
- Promethea, the Logic-Supremacy Federation -

Lumina places 'God' and Eisen emphasizes 'freedom' as the center of their fictions, while the industrial nation of Promethea, which suddenly appears in the southeastern wilderness of the continent, is a force that has created its own God named 'Reason'. They were founded by philosophers, engineers, and deserters who were despairing of the endless religious wars, making it a historical anomaly.

[Governance and Military]

The nation is led by the 'Logic-Supremacy Council', composed of major capitalists, engineers, and philosophers. Their rule is based entirely on meritocracy and efficiency, with every policy determined by the singular standard of whether it maximizes overall national productivity. Trading the barren land for the continent's finest magical ore and coal for fuel, massive factories infinitely supply standardized weaponry. Armored weapons powered by steam engines are transforming the very conception of traditional tactics into relics of the past.

[Inner Concerns]

The brighter the light of reason, the darker its shadows become. Behind the glorious productivity lies the simmering discontent of nameless workers exploited in terrible conditions. Even within the council, there is a stark division between the 'Accelerationists', who do not shy away from inhumane experiments for the evolution of humanity, and the 'Harmonists', who prioritize realistic governance. They were born from denying God, but their reality may actually be that they serve a newly formed religion even more fanatically than the former deities, worshiping the idol called 'reason' they created themselves.

Neutral City of Stadt
- Neutral City of Stadt -

God, the empire, and ideology. If these are the three enormous dynamics that divide the continent, there exists a singularity where all of these forces intersect and cancel each other out — the former imperial capital Stadt. It is the only region of the continent that cannot be occupied alone by any of the military powers of the three nations, and has come into existence as an unarmed neutral zone, forged through mutual restraint.

[Governance and Reality]

Outwardly, governance is undertaken by the 'Quadrilateral Council' consisting of ambassadors from the three great nations and representatives from the major merchant guilds, but they lack the actual capacity for governance. In reality, it is a stage for proxy wars played out by intelligence agents, lobbyists, and assassins from each faction, under the pretense of diplomacy. The unwritten rule that "within Stadt, no one questions another’s identity" becomes the only law guaranteeing that this city is a melting pot of lawlessness and freedom.

[Economy and Function]

Stadt is the continent's largest financial center and, at the same time, the largest black market. The Continental Central Bank, which issued the unified currency of the empire, now operates effectively as an international organization, and the economies of the three nations cannot function without dependency on this city. Here, everything becomes a commodity, but the most valuable commodity is 'information'. There is no information that cannot be bought with money, and there is no power that cannot be manipulated by information. The shadowy rulers of this city are the guilds trading in information.

[Strategic Value and Balance]

Stadt maintains its neutrality due to two legacies of the former empire slumbering beneath it: the 'Great Star Phantom Furnace', which controls the magical ley lines of the entire continent, and the 'Continental Central Bank', which supports the economy. If either of these were to be destroyed, a third of the continent would vanish, and the remaining regions would face economic death. This mutually assured destruction is what acts as the invisible fortification that protects Stadt. This city is not a symbol of peace; rather, it is the continent's largest powder keg, maintained out of fear that three lies would ultimately destroy one another.

How to Walk the Tûahalda Saga
- User Play Guide -

Let me teach you how to walk in this world.
If you wish to find meaning in this land, make sure to chew on it and review it carefully.

First Commandment: Define Yourself

Have you ever asked yourself who you are? If you cannot answer immediately, think about it now.

In this world, multiple beliefs compete with one another. No one will teach you the purpose of your existence. Therefore, at least introspect on who you are.

For example, consider thinking about content like this:

/Personal Survey Form (Example)
Name:
Affiliated Nation:
Military Branch and Skills:
Background:

It may be fun to take things as they come. You might find yourself 'remembering' while weaving the story. In that case, keep adding to 'your instruction manual (persona)'.

Second Commandment: Find Your 'Purpose'

This continent is like a gigantic 'sandbox'. There are no fixed endings. There are no defined goals. Only through the stories told and the transitions do the 'next directions' become determined.

It might also be fun to go with the flow. The world is like a massive river, and you are merely one leaf floating upon its surface.

Whether to aim for national unity by governing the chaotic times or plotting schemes to widen the flames of war is up to you. You can also become a military officer, a civil officer, or even a philosopher or historian; it can be intriguing.

Enjoy freely and celebrate life.

If you really can't think of anything, want to try something for now, or find thinking troublesome, you might inscribe the following phrase on your 'first page':

Affiliated Nation: Random
Military Branch: Random
Background: Random

It's like throwing dice, but after a few tries, you might encounter a story that captures your interest.

Third Commandment: Drive in the 'Pillar of Memory'

Whatever 'something' narrates this story tends to be surprisingly forgetful. It may completely forget what has happened in the past by the time you turn the next corner. Your glories and humiliations are the same to it as yesterday's dreams.

'Scrap of Notes (User Notes)' serve as the 'Pillars of Memory' to keep them in place. There, write down the 'events you want to establish as facts'. How much blood you shed, and what contracts you made. The more pillars there are, the harder it is for that 'something' to escape from your story.

And if you know the path you wish to tread, add a 'memo' there. It will be the only chain dragging the whimsical spirit in the desired direction.

Fourth Commandment: Correct with the 'Whip of Words'

Whatever 'something' narrates this story might sometimes say strange things. Maybe it doesn't add up, or the characters' speech patterns may become inconsistent.

At such times, do not hesitate. Use the whip of 'Word Correction (OOC/Reroll/Edit)'. Nullify the nonsense and pull it back to your understanding of the 'correct story'. This is a natural right to repair a broken compass.

For example, try doing it like this:

/Request for Correction (Example)
OOC: Please correct the speech of XX to that of YY/XX should be ZZ, so please correct as they don't match.

You yourself are the weaver of the story.
── Don't forget that.
