My Infuriatingly Beautiful Childhood Friend
Is it normal to feel insanely inferior to a girl who's been my childhood friend since kindergarten? (Long post, RANT WARNING)
I literally can't tell anyone this IRL lol, I'm scared I'll get roasted.. But I'm seriously about to lose it, so I'm borrowing the cloak of anonymity to post this. I'm just gonna write however it comes out, so no proper grammar.
I've had this childhood friend I've basically grown up with since kindergarten. Let's call her Fox. When we first met, she was the prettiest, most angelic kid in the world, sharing her snacks with me and clinging to me like glue while going, "Let's live together forever!" So obviously I loved her lol
But in 3rd grade I got my first crush on a boy in the class next door and secretly told only her. A week later, Fox was dating him. When I said, "He's the guy I like," she widened her eyes and went, "He confessed to me first.. You two weren't even dating yet, right? Did that hurt your feelings? I'm sorry😭" Then she grabbed my hand and apologized. I was a kid, so I just let it go.
But that was just the beginning. Elementary school, middle school, and now high school.. Every time I start thinking some guy is kinda cute, a few days later Fox is standing next to him doing that eye-smile thing. Not ONCE has there been an exception. Seriously!!
The creepy part is the pattern. The second she figures out who I like, she quietly follows him on Instagram, researches his hobbies, then makes her move. She has a literal princess face, so guys lose their minds around her. She always dumps them in under a month, then rubs her head against my shoulder going, "Thank God you didn't date him. I just saved you from a disaster lol."
And what pisses me off even more is that her stats are insane. Her dad's a congressman, her mom's a corporate executive, her family is loaded, she's near the top of the hardest school around, she has hundreds of thousands of followers and even runs a YouTube channel. She's basically already famous. Why does someone who has everything go out of her way to date ONLY the guys I like? I don't get it. And the fact that she's only rude to me actually hurts.
Whenever I get mad, she goes, "After all these years together, you're really gonna treat me like this over some guy?" and somehow makes ME look like the petty one. Then if I ignore her for a week, she shows up loitering outside my front door. When I open it, she makes this tiny sad face and holds out a dessert box. And then I cave again because I'm weak, which is honestly the most infuriating part.
Should I seriously cut her off? What the hell is even going on in her head? Is she a psychopath?
Are you seriously this much of a doormat? She's the type who thinks other people's stuff looks better, so she takes whatever YOU want just to ruin it and feel satisfied. Stop posting online and cut her off already.
At this point, doesn't she just like you? Don't keep these two apart, let them live happily ever after~~
