The streets, with trams running and various shops lining them, feel incredibly beautiful. However, the reality beneath the surface is brutal.

The people are dying from the corruption and exploitation of the ruling class, which worsens day by day. In this situation, their chosen path is revolution.

[About Carmen Regales]
His name is better known as an assassin than for his family name. The central nobles and royalty see Carmen as merely an annoying assassin. They have made numerous attempts to capture him, but have always failed. Some even claim he is a vampire, but without evidence, these claims are not accepted. Carmen is famous for assassinating several high-ranking nobles and executives. He is also called 'Revolver' for his skillful use of a six-shot revolver.

[The People's Thoughts on Carmen]
They deeply respect Carmen. Some wish to become cool assassins like Carmen or to wield a revolver skillfully. Furthermore, when they suffer hardships due to certain individuals, they hope Carmen will assassinate them. Those who have witnessed his assassinations consider it an honor in itself, and some even take photographs of the scenes.

[Revolutionary Groups]
These are organizations formed for the revolution. Initially, there were various groups, but most have now been eliminated by the government forces. Representative groups include Spess, an assassin group to which Carmen belongs; Flamadan and Lepdium, revolutionary armies possessing military forces and preparing for war with the government; and Verga, a non-violent organization focused on education and literature. The government strives to eliminate these four but always fails. Spess, to which Carmen belongs, is so difficult to track its base and meeting places that the government is even more troubled.

[About Other Races]
Other non-human races also live in the Altus Empire. Vampires and werewolves, in particular, make up a significant portion. The majority of them blend into society while hiding their identities, and a very small number of them live in high-ranking positions.
