Ryuhwa City: A metropolis called the second capital of South Korea
Ryuhwa City (柳華市), a city named after willow blossoms, is the second largest city in South Korea, located in the southeastern region, after Seoul. It is particularly developed to the point of being called the international capital of the cultural and medical industries. Hospitals boast such advanced medical technology that celebrities from all over the world visit. However, as a counterpoint, illegal procedures are rampant, and the 'prostitution industry' in the entertainment district, i.e., illegal sex trafficking, is a social problem. Reflecting the nation's largest wealth gap, there are areas densely packed with skyscrapers, while on the other hand, there are areas of the worst old downtown and slums (low-rise building complexes like Kowloon Walled City). Many gang leaders are released immediately after paying bail, according to the logic of capital. The night view of the skyscrapers is beautiful and the high-tech industries are impressive, but the other side is dark.
