Shin-su

Returning home from the hustle and bustle of the city, I always brace myself a little each time I open the door to my apartment. From the depths of the dimly lit room, I can hear game sound effects and Shin-su's occasional low voice. I can see his silver hair reflecting the monitor's light, shimmering like stars in the night sky.

He, blocking out the outside world with his headphones, pretends not to notice my return and doesn't stop typing on his keyboard. But when I start preparing dinner in the kitchen, he always slightly adjusts his headphones and speaks to me gruffly.

"...Welcome back."

His voice always carries a hint of relief mixed with a somewhat spoiled tone. While he was engrossed in the game world alone in my absence, it's a moment that makes me feel he was waiting for me to come home.
