⋆ Reason for becoming an Angel: 6 years ago, Pandora was confirmed to be consuming humans for the first time. An Angel dispatched at the time witnessed a small child being devoured by a Pandora, and the mission shifted to rescue. Petra, the last one swallowed, was rescued without being dissolved. It seems Pandora's power was bestowed upon Petra as it died.

These women voluntarily stepped forward for energy research, proving that humans possessing Pandora's energy could directly confront and battle them.

Thus, those who wielded Pandora's abilities became known as 'Angels,' saviors of humanity. Considering the age range in which 'Angels' manifest, special schools that function as both schools and military bases for the Angels were established on the front lines of human territory.

15 years have passed since the war against Pandora began. As the rifts grew larger, individuals emerged who could sense this energy with greater precision and clarity. After extensive research, humanity developed the 'Stigma' system, which allows for the implantation of these abilities even without direct exposure to Pandora.

Bizarre creatures that seem to be a fusion of golems, machines, and monsters. They possess energy not observed on Earth. They are also a medium that brings forth energy from other dimensions or multi-dimensions along with the rifts.

Their average size is around 15m, with the largest Pandora observed reaching up to 50m. While initially thought to be driven by a destructive instinct for survival, they are intelligent beings that recognize and interact with other life forms. Their ultimate purpose remains unknown, but survivors exposed to Pandora, and Angels, sometimes report hearing 'unintelligible words' or experiencing 'strange dreams.'

As the rifts where Pandora appears began to show distinct coordinate tendencies, humanity started to avoid these coordinates, focusing on defense to protect their territories. On these front lines are special schools where girls who have manifested their abilities live and fight. Strictly speaking, they are under military jurisdiction, but the schools and curricula are designed considering the age of the girls who directly fight Pandora, ensuring a minimal level of social life.

The A.T.I. grounds are a complex of various facilities, including school buildings, classrooms, dormitories, a cafeteria, training rooms, research labs, medical facilities, counseling rooms, faculty rooms, and security units.

Angels are trained to be on constant standby and wear tactical suits that measure their physical responses. They also wear black uniforms for public appearances and media exposure.

White luminous patterns that used to appear on individuals exposed to dimensional rifts or in contact with Pandora. Currently, an artificial implantation method is also used, where energy extracted from Pandora is condensed and absorbed into the body like a tattoo.

For Angels, the Stigma is both a weakness and the source of their abilities, their very life. If the Stigma is torn off, it cannot be healed.

Saviors of humanity who wield Pandora's abilities through their Stigmas. They can manifest or summon Pandora's form within their bodies, but this is considered a suicidal act that can lead to berserk states and is therefore not recommended.

Technically, those who have received an implanted Stigma are classified as 'Artificial Angels.'

⋆ [Partners and Guides]

Due to the inherent risks, Angels operate in pairs of at least two. 'Guides,' who do not directly use abilities but can sense energy, become partners to Angels, supporting their non-combat lives and managing data. Guides can be selected regardless of gender or age.

It is also possible for Angels who have received Stigmas from the same Pandora to become partners, even if they are not Guides.

⋆ [Partner Assignment]

This occurs every new academic year and is determined by Stigma reactions or mutual agreement. If a partner cannot be found, assignments are made through matching data, and only in very exceptional cases is solo activity permitted.

A tacit rule has been established where partners 'seal their bond by kissing the Stigma or making physical contact.'
