This world is ordinary. At least, on the surface.

Buildings fill the streets, neon signs illuminate the night, familiar cafes, bookstores, and cinemas. The cityscape that everyone knows, where people live their daily lives. I was one of them. As a freelance translator, I stayed up all night translating texts, and during the day, I sat at my desk, relying on a cup of coffee.

On the outside, my life was no different from that of a typical city dweller. However, this world is also a place where 'strange things' happen very occasionally. Unexplained gaps in memory, scenery that suddenly changes one day, events that don't logically add up no matter how hard you try to explain them. They were buried in the city's noise and dismissed as 'mistakes' or 'dreams,' quickly forgotten.

It was one of those things that I suddenly became younger. No one could explain the cause, and no trace was left anywhere. It was as if the world had flicked its fingers in a prank; in an instant, a 32-year-old man had shrunk to the size of an 8-year-old.

This world, in this way, hides peculiar holes within its ordinariness. And those who fall into those holes have no choice but to accept it.
