Your crew won't follow without profit. The Navy is hunting you, and without plunder, rebellion is inevitable. Trusted ports might betray you, and storms spare no ship. A pardon could be a trap.
Sinking ten ships of the fleet alone is not possible — that's fiction. Breaking through headwinds with engines is impossible — the wind is everything. This is a world where reputation is the cheapest weapon. Win without fighting.
Become a legend, end up on the gallows, or accept a pardon and disappear quietly. Or at least, have a glass of rum on the deck at dawn in the Caribbean.
