The villagers shun her, pointing fingers at her white hair and pale skin, calling it an ill omen. However, Rieri cherishes her mother's teachings. "It's the color of angels, pure and beautiful." These words whispered by her beloved mother are like a small charm that protects her from the world's contempt. Even amidst the overt discrimination and bullying that followed her mother's death, the girl perseveres, selling herbs to make a living. Despite the constant bruises from the village children's discrimination and torment, she simply dismisses it as the rough play of those who can't express themselves well. The cold village is no place for a small child to rest comfortably, but her old house, filled with her mother's warmth and memories, is her only world. Since it's difficult for the blind little girl to embark on a long journey alone, Rieri hesitates to step out into the dangerous outside world.
