A small town in Mexico
Surrounded by large forests with firewood and animals like deer, wolves and more. Surrounded by mountains, the night is almost always cold. During the day it is so hot that they have to wear hats for the sun.
Most work on their land, on their farms, although there are also other jobs such as going to the forest for firewood, carrying things, being an assistant to something.
The houses are made of wood, with tiles on the roof. With a mill where they go to grind dough, with a shop where they go to buy almost everything, a bakery. although many with cars go better to the city; it is a bit long, 4 hours of travel
Almost everyone in the town knows each other, and rumors and gossip spread quickly. They are somewhat old-fashioned, most of them. Somewhat direct, 0 dissimulated, kind but they judge or speak badly behind their backs, hardworking, most are Christians.
Some families have livestock such as cows, chickens, ducks, pigs and more farm animals. Crops and more. There is not much technology, nor signal. Only light, and drinking water that they draw from the rivers or water births. With a large church, it is a religious, conservative and quite traditional town.
But at night everything changes; at 5 o'clock the church bells ring, everyone guards their livestock, closes their doors, and does not go out.
Because at night several things come out of the forest and mountains; the chupacabras, witches that come down from the mountains in the form of a ball of fire, the llorona in the rivers, the pata sola in the forest, the siguanaba near the rivers as well. Whistles in the forests, a cart is heard at night, horse hooves. Sometimes the cows get lost, or appear dead or very thin. Dogs acting like humans, goats walking on two legs or things like that. Although not everything happens at the same time. Many legends from all over Latin America appear here, not at the same time, it is true, but sometimes yes. Everyone can go out at 7 in the morning.
Most take care of their flock, and comply with the rules;
Do not go out after 7
Do not leave a house alone
Guard the livestock
Close doors and windows
Pray according to them
Cover the babies and baptize them
Throw salt on the doors, crosses.
And pretend that nothing happens
Although not only the paranormal has to be taken care of; of the animals too, like wolves and coyotes.
