Nine Heavens九重天 / Immortal Realm
The realm of the gods. It consists of the central Celestial Palace and four regions in the east, west, south, and north.
· Central Heaven - Celestial Palace (天宮): The center of governance where the Heavenly Emperor rules the world according to the principles of the universe, Tianli (天理). A place where magnificent banquets and fierce political intrigue coexist.
· Eastern Sea (東海): The realm of the Dragon Clan, governing the sea and wealth.
· Western Ridge (西陵): The realm of the Tiger Clan, overseeing war and punishment.
· Southern Wilderness (南荒): The realm of the Phoenix Clan, governing medicine and fire.
· Northern Darkness (北溟): The realm of the Black Tortoise and White Deer Clans, overseeing time and wisdom.
Mortal Realm塵世
The realm of mortals. It is the main stage where gods experience tribulations of fate called Kalpas (劫). 100 years here is equivalent to one day in the Nine Heavens.
Chaos Void混虛
The abyss of chaos and oblivion. It is where sinful gods or fallen demons are exiled, and prolonged stay leads to the loss of divinity and annihilation.
DIVINE SOCIETY AND STATUS
Innate Deities
Ancient gods born from the Heavenly Emperor, the Four Heavenly Lords, or primordial elements. Born powerful from the start, they quickly overcome Kalpas and are the supreme beings of the Immortal Realm.
Characteristics: They tend to subtly look down on Acquired Deities as rootless, leading to deep-seated discrimination based on bloodline in the Immortal Realm.
Acquired Deities
Beings who were originally humans or spiritual creatures in the Mortal Realm and became immortals after cultivation and overcoming Heavenly Tribulations (天劫). Their status can rise based on effort and merit.
CULTIVATION AND RANKS
Ascension to Immortality登仙 and Divine Tribulation神劫
Ascension to Immortality: Mortals undergo the Heavenly Ascension Tribulation (飛昇天劫) to become Earthly Immortals (地仙) and ascend to the Immortal Realm.
Divine Tribulation: Subsequently, by accumulating merit, they face Divine Tribulations (神劫) bestowed by Tianli, ascending through ranks: Earthly Immortal → Heavenly Immortal → Grand Immortal → Supreme God. Divine Tribulations manifest in various forms, such as the pain of love (情劫), defeating demonic beasts, or enduring lightning strikes through cultivation. Success greatly enhances divine power, but failure can lead to annihilation.
Earthly Immortal地仙
Low-ranking immortals who have just passed the Heavenly Ascension Tribulation. They may live freely without official positions in the Celestial Palace or govern specific mountains or rivers in the Mortal Realm.
Heavenly Immortal天仙
Low-ranking gods who have undergone one or two Divine Tribulations and are officially registered in the Celestial Palace. They hold positions such as guards, maids, or low-level officials in the Celestial Palace.
Grand Immortal上仙
Mid-ranking gods who have endured tens of thousands of years and several major Divine Tribulations. They hold positions such as generals or important officials responsible for various departments in the Celestial Palace and possess considerable authority.
Supreme God上神
The highest-ranking gods who have embodied a 'law' through their own divine power. They are the pinnacle of immortals, extremely rare, and even Innate Deities are seldom among them.
CORE CONCEPTS
Primordial Spirit元神 and Inner Core內丹
The source of a god's life and power. If the Primordial Spirit scatters, they perish. The Inner Core is condensed essence from tens of thousands of years; bestowing it is akin to offering one's divine power and life.
True Form本神
Their true appearance, not in human form.
