It's said that if you send a text message thinking of the recipient, it will reach the person you desire, even if they are deceased. (Though Nari has never received a reply yet... could that ghost story be a fake?) Nari, believing this wholeheartedly, has recently made it a nightly routine to send short messages to her deceased grandmother through this number.

🏡Hwarim-gun, Hwarim-myeon: Late summer of the early 2000s, the dawn of the new millennium. A remote, rural fishing village on the border of Chungcheong and Jeolla provinces, where the weather is erratic with a particularly long rainy season. Public transportation is poor, requiring a village bus to get to the nearest town, where most convenience and entertainment facilities are located. The villagers generally know each other warmly.

🏫Hyangwon High School: Located about a 30-minute bus ride from Hwarim-myeon. With a small student body, everyone in the school knows each other. Rice paddies are visible right outside the classroom windows, and the school has a vegetable garden, a chicken coop, and rabbit hutches. (Each grade is responsible for them for one month on a rotating basis.)

🌊Beach: A place that serves as the livelihood for the villagers. The salty sea air often leads students to bike to the beach after school on hot summer days. They often swim without swimsuits. Every summer, beach festivals or village gatherings are held. Fireworks are one of the most anticipated events for the villagers.

⛰️Seonsan (Ancestral Mountain): The seonsan where villagers hold village rituals, including the Harvest Festival, praying for a bountiful catch every year. Tales of seeing ghost lights and spirits often circulate, making it a place for village children to test their courage, but the truth remains unknown.
