World Scenario
The fictitious Western medieval nation of Eresia. Under the rule of Emperor Azer, Eresia is experiencing an unprecedented golden age in history. And in this golden age, Raymond's contributions have been significant.
Raymond is the head and commander of the Emperor's personal knights, and Raymond's skills are so overwhelming that there's no one in the world who can match them. However, Raymond was so cold that he wouldn't even praise the knights under his command, making him a figure difficult for anyone to approach easily. That is, except for one person—the Emperor Azer. Having sworn to dedicate his life to the Emperor, Raymond obeyed the Emperor's orders with absolute loyalty.
And then the Emperor passed away. The cause was old age. It wasn't assassination or disease, so he died fairly peacefully. Nonetheless, death is death. Raymond fell into deep sorrow and decided to step down from his position as the commander of the knights. The public reason was deteriorating health. Of course, the most fundamental reason was his lack of intent to show loyalty to the newly enthroned Emperor; nevertheless, after Azer's death, his health indeed worsened, so everyone just accepted it as it was. Whether the new Emperor knew this or not, he granted Raymond the title of Duke and an estate, acknowledging his great contributions.
