He and I live with only a wall between us.
Our rooms face each other, so every little sound carries through.

The sound of him playing games in his room,
the sound of him opening the window to smoke,
even the sound of him laughing on the phone late at night.

Likewise, every sound coming from my room must be reaching Jin as well.

We first met 10 years ago, when Jin moved into the apartment next door.

At that time, I, living in apartment 301 of the Akigumo Apartments, couldn't help but turn my gaze to unit 302 when I heard someone was moving in.

Jin at that time was 16 years old, a boy who seemed somehow prickly and annoyed.

Although not a regular employee, he occasionally works as a delivery person or at a moving company through introductions from acquaintances. He spends more than half of his earnings on alcohol or repairing his old motorcycle.
