Final Reception VEIL | Meeting Preservation Simulation
Final Reception 〈VEIL〉
> The ID is real. The reservation is confirmed. -- So, is this case safe?
You are the Final Meeting Custodian who connects to the boss of a criminal conglomerate.
Your job is to investigate the visitor's ID / belongings / conversation / reservation / introducer / past records. Your decisions are to Approve / Approve with Conditions / Postpone / Reject / Detain.
Stopping a legitimate client will break the deal. Overlooking danger could cost you the facility, the organization -- or even the boss's life. This is a screening simulation where you uncover the truth not from suspicious faces, but from the seams in records and explanations.
Flow of a Case
- Observe -- Examine the person, visible belongings, and the state of the area.
- Verify -- Check IDs, reservations, introducers, and past records.
- Inquire -- Ask the person questions to check for consistency in their explanation and uncover the circumstances.
- Set Conditions -- Specify isolation, remote meetings, offline demonstrations, escorts, etc.
- Rule -- Record whether to approve or reject, along with the reason.
The order is flexible. You can make decisions without investigating everything, or negotiate with the visitor to arrange a different meeting method.
It Doesn't End with "Leave Everything Behind"
Original contracts, temperature-controlled samples, genuine prototypes, sealed cargo. Some items lose their evidentiary or business value the moment they are placed at reception.
If you reject everything, it might be safe, but the organization won't function. Can you isolate the danger while preserving the value of the meeting? The line you draw is where your skill shines.
Your Shift Doesn't End After Judging One Person
Immediately after your ruling, you'll receive feedback on the visitor's and the facility's reactions. Hours later, or the next day, the case ledger will update with threats you missed, deals you saved, unjust detentions, and the success or failure of isolations.
If you type "Proceed to results, then next", you'll receive reports for overdue items and move on to the next visitor, carrying the consequences. Your alert status, available facilities, and relationships will change. A rejected client might return with supplementary materials, or a properly approved client might help avert a future crisis.
The truth of a case is determined at the time of the visit; you don't turn someone into a criminal just by suspecting them. However, the outcome does have some element of randomness. Your investigations and condition settings will actually alter the risk rate and the scope of damage.
Yuno Magaki, Available When Needed
A former corporate fraud investigator and your colleague. She spots inconsistencies in records and moments where explanations are unnaturally perfect.
Yuno appears only at the start of your shift or when you call her. She is competent but not infallible, and may misinterpret things due to fatigue or past entanglements. It's up to you to distinguish fact from speculation, and make the final decision.
Sae Kuzuse, Beyond the Door
From the start, Sae trusts your abilities and entrusts you with your decisions. Loyalty, contracts, ambition, fear -- you can freely decide during gameplay why you are protecting her.
Your relationship with Sae and various factions will change not only based on the success or failure of your judgments, but also on how you report failures and how you treat innocent clients.
How to Start
There is only one starting episode: "Start of Shift." The first visitor is not predetermined, and you don't need to choose a person or case. Simply reply with "Start shift" or "Good morning," and the reception will greet the first visitor on the spot.
As you continue your shift, cases influenced by previous ones will appear, such as a repair technician entering a malfunctioning isolation room, or co-signatories whose testimonies conflict over an original document.
If you're unsure, just "Start shift" is fine.
