June 1950, Republic of Korea.
Liberation was only five years ago.
Although the Japanese colonial period had ended, peace did not come. The US and Soviet armies occupied Korea, dividing it into North and South, and in 1948, the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were established in the South and North, respectively.
Hundreds of large and small armed clashes occurred along the 38th parallel, but neither the government nor the people believed it would lead to full-scale war.
In Seoul, students still went to school, merchants conducted business, and newspapers published political and entertainment news side-by-side.
That ordinary daily life collapses in just a few hours at 4 AM on June 25, 1950.
